Twenty-one months have passed since the inception of the enforced experiment in home working. In that time, hybrid working, where employees now work part of the week at home and the other part in the office, has become the norm for many. As Allan Wood, Managing Director at Optima, point out in his feature in this month’s Design & Interiors spotlight, according to a Michael Page survey from September this year, more than 50% of London office workers had expected to split their time between the office and home. The onus then, is on creating office spaces capable of enticing staff back. Workers, he argues, want to feel they’re looked after by the environment they’re in, as much as by the company they work for.

With this Christmas promising to be better than the last, most in the hotel and hospitality industry would have had reason to be optimistic. And whilst the new Omicron variant has made a few somewhat unnerved, many believe the industry is in a much better position to deal with the challenges we face. In our Hotels & Hospitality feature this month, companies from across the sector are here to offer a helping hand by providing expert advice on a range of different topics. From keeping washrooms clean, to demonstrating how you can deal with food waste and become more sustainable by making small and gradual changes, we have you covered for the festive period and beyond.

This issue also sees CAFM & IT and Leisure & Retail Facilities in focus, as well as all of our regular features.

On behalf of the Tomorrow’s FM team, we wish all our readers a relaxing and well-deserved Christmas break, and a very happy New Year.

See you in January.
