WHAT’S NEW?

PACVAC AT THE FOREFRONT OF A NEW CLEANING ERA

WITHIN HOSPITALITY As borders across the world slowly but surely start to open, and we begin the return to a post- Covid world, there is one industry in particular at the forefront of solidifying high new standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The hospitality industry, in particular hotels and food venues are looking at new and improved ways to maintain these standards, along with the wellbeing of their customers and members of staff.

Pacvac began operating in Perth, Western Australia in 1978, manufacturing and supplying Australian made backpack vacuum cleaners to the commercial cleaning industry worldwide. Through continual observation centred around their 40+ years of feedback from cleaning professionals, Pacvac has been able to design evolved vacuum cleaners catering to the demands of the market, and resulting in their backpack vacuum cleaners being the professional cleaning industry’s number one choice.

Today’s commercial cleaning market demands more than ever of vacuum cleaners within the hospitality industry. Clients want their product to provide effective and powerful suction, operate with low service costs, be compact enough for quick and easy access, and be versatile enough to clean both hard to reach places and the larger scale jobs in order to maximise their staff’s productivity.

“Our clients and our cleaning professionals are looking for a one product solution to all of these factors,” said Pacvac’s Head of Marketing Urvin Seeburuth, who recognises the commercial cleaning industry’s movement away from the traditional canister and upright vacuum cleaners towards backpack vacuum cleaners.

“The research shows that backpack vacuum cleaners are up to four times more productive than with an upright or canister vacuum.

“This means cleaners have more time to perform other cleaning tasks, or can simply move on to clean another room or area quicker without compromising the effectiveness or high quality clean they’ve just carried out,” said Seeburuth.

Increased productivity in the hospitality industry means faster turnaround times of hotel rooms or restaurant areas, which ultimately mean more customers.

But getting more customers through the door is just half of the job in hospitality, the key is to keep them coming back through maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. In addition to maintaining new standards of cleanliness, it’s important for staff to have quick and easy access to a vacuum cleaner for whatever the customer needs.

Pacvac’s backpack vacuum range are compact machines, with the smallest machine in their range the Velo, weighing in at just 4.6kg, making it easy to store in hotel lobbies and on cleaner’s trolleys taking up hardly any room at all.

The compact and lightweight nature of backpack vacuum cleaners is one of the main reasons Pacvac’s backpack vacuum cleaners provide the best Occupational Health & Safety standards possible, an important factor for emotionally intelligent corporations who value the wellbeing of their workforce.

Whilst traditional canister and upright vacuum cleaners require cleaning staff to repeatedly bend down to plug and unplug cables, drag along heavy machinery and try to avoid bumping into furniture or the building’s walls, backpack vacuum cleaners are comfortably worn on the cleaners back. In this way the user is kept standing upright with no obstacles to avoid on the floor, and Pacvac machines provide the support of a waist and chest band, securing them to the ergonomically designed with airflow accommodating padding for comfort and breathability throughout the clean.

As we begin emerging from the unprecedented times that 2020 presented with the world, it provides us with an opportunity on how we can better operate within the cleaning industry towards eliminating the industry’s negative impact on our planet.

Along with the trend we’re seeing within hospitality towards backpack vacuum cleaners, we’re seeing a global trend with companies choosing to work with environmentally conscious brands, of which Pacvac is proud to be.

The company is on a sustainable journey, which began with its latest product Velo and the use of less plastic in both its production and it’s packaging, not to mention Pacvac’s commitment to servicing and replacing parts not products through the use of long-lasting materials to minimise products going to landfill. Pacvac is now working on further introducing environmentally friendly alternatives into its production, design and ultimately overall product range.
