At Amey it is important for employees to get to know the people and communities they work with. And this is true for the graduate scheme, Amey’s managers take the time to ensure that the roles they are recruiting for fit the ‘real role from day one’ ethos. By doing this, managers get to know their graduates’ strengths, development areas, passions and values, and turn that into a foundation for their futures.
Over the past year, Amey has added additional features to the programme, including Skills Builder. Skills Builder allows each graduate to enhance their foundational soft skills including communication, teamwork, collaboration and more, and the feature also creates to embed the learning into everyday work.
Amey maintained its commitment to the next generation by continuing the graduate scheme throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning Amey has now hired 18 graduates. In a time of uncertainty, it was important to Amey to continue its work of building for future generations.
Whether people chose the university route, took the apprenticeship option, or have been working for 20 years and now want a new challenge, Amey is proud to support people as they start out in their chosen career. The graduate scheme is one of the excellent ways that Amey is establishing a new wave of talent for the future.
