area, and the CMD team was able to advise us on the most cost effective combination of products to meet the project’s needs.”

At each tap-off, power is taken up through the floor via a floor box, grommet or cleaner’s hive, depending on the specific requirement for different locations within the building. CMD’s 20 Series fast-fit floor boxes were used, contributing to the speed of the installation offered by the system. Offering tool-free fixing, the 20 Series enables individual floor boxes to be installed or removed with the lid still in place and the lid and trim assembly can easily be removed for carpet fitting. The use of cleaner’s hives as part of the installation ensures that electrical cleaning equipment is only plugged in at allocated locations, preventing accidental unplugging of critical devices.

Duguay added: “The simplicity of the system and efficient supply from CMD have enabled us to deliver a large-scale power distribution network quickly, while providing a robust and flexible installation. The real benefits will be in the operational flexibility the system offers, however, thanks to the ease of potential future adaptations with Betatrak.”
