COVER STORY Q: Q:

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE COMPANY’S MOST RECENT INNOVATIONS, AND HOW WILL THESE SUPPORT

HEALTHCARE COMPANIES?

CW: We have some fantastic new products which we are launching this year which will be ideal for the healthcare sector. We have a new ‘touch-free’ paper hand towel dispenser that offers ultimate hygiene and a new range of soap, which includes a dermatologically and hypoallergenic tested soap.

WHAT FACTORS COME INTO PLAY WHEN SUPPORTING HEALTHCARE CUSTOMERS PICK THE RIGHT PAPER

TO SUPPORT THEIR NEEDS. HOW DOES SUPPLYING TO HEALTHCARE-BASED BUSINESSES DIFFER FROM SUPPLYING TO OTHER PROFESSIONS?

CW: Healthcare based businesses have very specific needs and are passionate about good quality, hygienic and consistent products. They are oſten interested in having a unique solution for different needs in order to optimise working time and warehousing costs. As well as offering all of these requirements, Lucart also offer excellent dispensing systems which can reduce costs, whilst upholding the high level expectations in the healthcare sector.

“Innovation is the attitude that has distinguished Lucart since

its origins and today translates into cutting-edge products.”

Q:

HOW IMPORTANT IS SUSTAINABILITY TO THE COMPANY? WHAT EFFORTS ARE YOU MAKING TO ENSURE

SUSTAINABILITY IS AT THE HEART OF YOUR BUSINESS?

CW: Lucart Professional proves that it’s possible to combine technology and real sustainability, providing profitable and effective solutions developed to improve business performance whilst reducing the impact on our planet.

A clear example of Lucart’s commitment on sustainability is the EcoNatural project. A project born from an evolved technology that recycles beverage cartons into tissue and dispensers, saving thousands of trees a year and preventing these cartons from going to landfill. A virtuous system that reduces the burden of waste on the environment and which has enabled Lucart to become an authentic point of reference for the circular economy in Europe.

Moreover, from 2021 the electricity used in the production and processing phases of EcoNatural products comes from 100% renewable sources, and EcoNatural products manufactured in our French plant in Laval, are certified Cradle to Cradle.

Q:

HAS THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC CHANGED THE WAY YOU OPERATE? HAVE YOU SEEN CUSTOMERS LEANING

TOWARDS DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRODUCTS? HAS THE BUSINESS CHANGED OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS

twitter.com/TomorrowsCare - 13 -

TO ACCOMMODATE FOR A GREATER NEED FOR HYGIENE- BASED PRODUCTS?

CW: For sure! Like all companies, we had to adapt our ways of working during the pandemic and many of the good habits which we adopted during that period remain in place today.

The consumer needs certainly changed a lot as well. There was a lot more focus on cleaning and hygiene which saw a big upliſt in demand for centrefeed and hand towels over alternative options, which were considered less hygienic or more expensive.

Without doubt, this remains the opinion by many and as a result, the demand for paper products remains very high since the pandemic.

Q:

WHAT ARE THE COMPANY’S PLANS FOR THE FUTURE? WHERE ARE YOU HEADING IN THE COMING YEARS?

CW: As I mentioned, our intentions are to create one of the most sustainable and complete paper making facilities in the UK, if not Europe. We have a 20-acre site which we are only using half of, so we have the potential to grow significantly. Lucart is an incredibly ambitious company with a passion for paper so will continue to develop sustainable products which will be ideal for the healthcare sector.
