10 Questions with... Andrew Donaghy

Each month we ask a cleaning industry professional the

Tomorrow’s Cleaning 10 Questions. This month, we chatted to Andrew Donaghy, Regional Ambassador UK & Ireland at i-team global.

1

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? I started out on my journey as a trainee Store Manager

at ASDA, a foundation that has served me well over my career. Putting the customer, people, operational excellence, and brand proposition first is at the forefront of any company’s success.

2

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE CLEANING INDUSTRY? Having spent many years working with large brands, the

opportunity to grow market share in the UK with a product that delivers day in and day out at i-team global was just too appealing. Joining a company whose ethos is founded on inquiring, innovating, and inspiring people, the opportunity to drive a change in the way you think about cleaning was too good to miss.

3 4

WHICH THREE WORDS DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?

Adventurous, authentic, and fun.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ONE PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY?

I’ve been relatively lucky in my career to have travelled to most of the beautiful cities across the globe, but I’ve never been to the Shetlands.

5

HOW WOULD YOU IMPROVE THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?

I don’t think it will ever stop improving – that’s what we call innovation. Automation will become a large part of the future, but for now it’s the people and the results that count, so let’s keep doing what we do well and find ways to make it faster, cleaner, greener, safer and better.

6

IF AN INTERN WERE TO START TOMORROW, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE THEM?

There’s a big world out there: use your education as the foundation to never stop learning. Be open to change, prepared to leap, and most of all enjoy and be happy in what you do.

9

IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY TOMORROW, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR FORTUNE?

I’d have to buy a ticket first, but if I did win then I don’t think I would stop looking for the next adventure just yet.

IF YOU COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY AND INVITE ANY PEOPLE, DEAD OR ALIVE, WHO WOULD THEY

BE AND WHY? Martin Luther King for his wisdom, vision, and change; David Attenborough for his continuous mission to improve awareness of our changing planet; and my wife.

WHAT, DO YOU THINK, IS THE FUTURE OF THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?

Continuous development to improve health and sustainability for the planet.

Rebecca Munson, Managing Director at Air Spectrum Environmental, asks:

10

WHAT MEASURES COULD BE IMPLEMENTED TO ENSURE CLEANER AIR QUALITY FOR ALL

MOVING FORWARDS? As they say in i-team, this is the fourth dimension, and sustainable solutions are obviously the core to the planet’s survival, but what about your current health? There are solutions and equipment out there to improve this today, some of which are available from i-team…
