The jury opined: “Floor cleaning is one of the most time- consuming tasks performed by cleaning operatives and when cleaning different surfaces pads often need to be changed. Operatives are sometimes unsure as to which pad is best and mistakes can happen. The Pu-Pad Light removes that uncertainty and there is also an ergonomic benefit for the operatives because they do not have to bend down constantly to change pads.”
For the ‘Hygiene & Health’ category, the winner was Alani’s Coreless Centre Pull Paper Towel, which took the top spot ahead of the EnozoPRO by Consensus and Aladin GT5 from Ar-Co Chimica.
In their remarks, the jury said: “[We] felt this was the product in this category that has the potential to make the greatest impact. Then there are its environmental credentials and the fact that it absorbs 10 times its weight in water. Because it’s coreless, it reduces waste after use and helps the cleaning operatives by removing that waste.”
Finally, in the ‘Visitor’s Choice Award’, Kärcher triumphed with the BVL 5/1 BP.
Proceeds from the Amsterdam Innovation Award were donated to Amref Flying Doctors, to support their projects in Africa. A total of €12,675 was handed over at this year’s event.

many positive responses, from business contacts who were pleasantly surprised about the international nature of the exhibition, exhibitors who were able to make many more new contacts or close new orders, and speakers who talked enthusiastically about the large audiences and their willingness to interact. This week has demonstrated that the power of personal interaction is extremely valuable.
“I am also proud of the Healthcare Cleaning Forum where we bridged the gap between infection prevention and cleaning. It was also fantastic to see how our sector is dealing with sustainability. On top of all that we learned that robotisation has now really taken off. We cannot wait until 2024.”
The next Interclean event is Interclean China 2022, where cleaning and hygiene professionals from all parts of Asia will come together from 23-25 November to discover the latest innovative products, and learn from industry experts about how to do business and generate growth in China.
The organisers have also announced the dates for Interclean Amsterdam 2024: 14-17 May 2024. The RAI Amsterdam will once again be transformed into the global capital of cleaning and hygiene. There will be four days of knowledge sharing, doing business with leading manufacturers, and opportunities to meet industry professionals from all over the world.
With cleaning products and solutions, inspiring sessions on cutting-edge topics and future technology, the exhibition will be an opportunity to find out about all kinds of business opportunities in the professional cleaning industry.
