to see and experience. Entering hall 1, you were greeted by the sight of UNGER’s huge window-cleaning display, while further in you could bear witness to robotic cleaning machine demonstrations from multiple companies.


Over in halls 10-12, dubbed the ‘Washroom’ halls, you could actually find all manner of exhibitors, delivering everything from tissue and soaps to aircare and healthcare cleaning. This included the Healthcare Cleaning LAB, which put on regular demonstrations. It was also the gateway to the Healthcare Cleaning Forum, which took place on 12 May.


and attendees. These weren’t simple catch-ups for most, with fundamental discussions about contracts, new technologies and methodologies taking place.


Alongside the in-depth chats, one of the main changes I noticed on the show floor was a significant reduction in the number of ‘freebies’ and samples being handed out. While there were plenty of travel-sized samples to take away, free drinks and snacks to swallow, and Tork tote bags as far as the eye could see, over the course of all four days I saw significantly fewer people carting around bags full of swag, looking for anything and everything to take away with them.


It made a refreshing change to see people not just looking for whatever they could nab, but trying to take in all the innovations and products on display.


STANDS THAT DELIVERED


Interclean Amsterdam presents companies with the opportunity to showcase their latest innovations, most popular products and services, and even launch something new in front of a huge audience. The 2022 edition was no different, with many companies revelling in the return to in- person events.

Although the show floor wasn’t as filled with packed out and heaving as previous years, there was plenty to keep visitors busy and entertained. Throughout the week, multiple exhibitors also engaged in ‘extracurricular’ activities outside (and sometimes inside) show hours, taking in the sights and sounds of Amsterdam to entertain valued clients and guests. Apart from Wednesday evening’s downpour, the weather held firm all week, making it an ideal time to take in the city’s atmosphere.


SHOWING OFF


Northwood Hygiene brought out their finest to Amsterdam, with the comprehensive new Raphael range appearing at the show for the first time, drawing crowds to their stand in hall 11. The company’s TwinJumbo toilet roll dispenser, the industry’s first twin jumbo high-capacity proprietary toilet roll dispenser, also attracted a lot of attention. Whisper Green – the first 100% recycled luxury toilet tissue in the recently expanded Whisper range – was also on show.


Paul Mulready, Marketing Manager at Northwood Hygiene, commented: “After several turbulent years, it was great to engage with customers face-to-face once again. The four days were full of energy and positivity, with some excellent networking opportunities throughout.
