Birmingham 2022 Reckitt has been appointed as an Official Partner of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, with its market- leading Dettol brand serving as the Official Hygiene Partner.
The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, set to run from 28 July to 8 August, is a multi-sport event started in 1930. It aims to unite Commonwealth countries with a celebration of sport and human performance.
Dettol Pro Solutions will support athletes and spectators over the 12-day event, bringing hand sanitiser dispensers, disinfectant products and educational hygiene messages to the 15 competition venues across Birmingham, Coventry, Royal Leamington Spa, Sandwell and London, as well as Dettol hygiene kits for all athletes and volunteers in attendance.

Dr Deborah Birx to keynote GBAC
Symposium The Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, has announced that Dr Deborah Birx, world-renowned medical physician, infectious disease expert, and diplomat, will be the keynote speaker at the GBAC Symposium on Air Considerations.
The inaugural Symposium, which takes place 16-17 August at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Illinois, will bring together scientists and industry thought leaders to share the latest innovations and best practices for improving indoor air quality in non-healthcare settings.
Michael Diamond, GBAC Senior Director, said: “The GBAC Symposium is our next step in driving innovation and advancement to make our world safer. This event will bring together environmental safety and infectious disease experts such as Dr Birx and organisations to discuss real solutions for public health concerns.”
Birx is an internationally admired medical physician and expert on HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases
who served as a special representative for global health diplomacy. Most recently, Birx served on the White House Coronavirus Task Force from March 2020 to January 2021. Her three-decade-long career has focused on HIV/AIDS immunology, vaccine research, and global health.
The GBAC Symposium will also include a presentation from Dr John McKeon, medical entrepreneur and CEO of Allergy Standards Ltd, Poppy Co-CEO Elizabeth Caley, environmental and architectural engineering expert Mark Hernandez, Ph.D., environmental infection prevention expert John LaRochelle, infectious disease scientist John Lowe, Ph.D., biorisk expert Dr. Paul Meechan, GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger, and Biorisk International Executive Director Stefan Wagener, Ph.D.
These thought leaders will share insights and strategies for improving indoor air quality in schools, offices, restaurants, gyms, and other non-healthcare settings during a pandemic and beyond.
