SUSTAINABILITY Brewing a greener future We find out how BrewDog and Delphis have united for a cleaner planet, and more.

As the world marked World Environment Day in June, two pioneering British brands raised the bar for climate-positive action. Delphis Eco, the UK’s leading manufacturer of eco- friendly cleaning products, has joined forces with BrewDog, the global brewery and bar operator famed for its craft beers and bold sustainability mission.

This landmark partnership brings together two purpose- driven companies with one shared ambition: to reduce environmental impact and lead by example in tackling climate change and plastic pollution.

Since embarking on its sustainability journey in 2020, BrewDog has set the drinks industry ablaze with its carbon- cutting credentials. In 2024, the company was awarded the Positive Planet GOLD certification, a third-party endorsement of its robust emissions reduction strategy – the latest in a string of accolades that confirm BrewDog’s reputation as a sustainability leader.

Delphis Eco, meanwhile, has blazed its own trail as the first UK cleaning brand to use 100% recycled plastic packaging, setting a new standard long before it became mainstream. Its plant-based, vegan and biodegradable products deliver professional-grade cleaning performance without harming people or the planet. From heavy-duty degreasers to foaming oven cleaners, Delphis Eco’s range has become a trusted choice for organisations determined to clean up their act sustainably.

The new partnership will see Delphis Eco supply its entire cleaning range across BrewDog’s 60 UK bars and kitchens. This collaboration goes far beyond simply swapping out

cleaning products. Delphis Eco has also completed a bespoke Carbon Analysis Report for BrewDog – believed to be the first of its kind in the cleaning industry. This comprehensive study maps the carbon footprint of BrewDog’s cleaning operations against global industry averages, analysing everything from raw ingredients and logistics to end-of-life emissions.

The results speak for themselves. By switching to Delphis Eco’s ecological products, BrewDog expects to save an estimated 207 tonnes of CO2

e and 1.63 tonnes of virgin plastic

each year. It’s a meaningful step towards BrewDog’s wider mission to reduce plastic waste, which has already seen the brewery eliminate plastic wrap from beer packs, cut pallet weight by half and save over 22 tonnes of plastic annually.

Will Brown, Retail Property Director at BrewDog, said: “At BrewDog, we’re committed to brewing the best beer while protecting our planet. Partnering with Delphis Eco was an easy choice. Their use of 100% recycled packaging and genuinely sustainable products aligns perfectly with our values.”

For Delphis Eco’s CEO, Mark Jankovich, this is a partnership built on shared purpose. He added: “BrewDog, like us, has disrupted an entire industry by delivering exceptional products while caring deeply about customers and the planet. They don’t just talk about sustainability – they live it. We love partnering with businesses who are masters of their craft and share our vision for a cleaner, greener future.”

With bold, measurable action and transparent reporting, BrewDog and Delphis Eco are showing that good business can – and must – be good for the planet.

In a world where sustainability has become a defining imperative, Delphis Eco continues to lead by example through education. The company is proudly funding its sixth student bursary for the Master of Studies (MSt) in Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge. This prestigious two-year programme, run by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), equips professionals with the skills and networks to drive real-world change.

This year’s Delphis Eco Scholar is Varnika Chawla, a dual- qualified solicitor in India and England & Wales, who heads the legal function at Climate Asset Management, managing over $1bn in natural capital investments. Her work ensuring climate finance reaches regions most affected by climate change has earned her global recognition, including the Legal500 ESG Rising Star Award.

Delphis Eco’s continued investment in future ‘game changers’ underlines its commitment to building a fairer, greener world for generations to come.
