REGULAR An update from the Institute

We get an update from the British Institute of Cleaning Science’s (BICSc) Group Managing Director, Neil Spencer-Cook, about the upcoming BICSc Awards 2025.

As we approach the much-anticipated BICSc Awards 2025, excitement is mounting within the cleaning and hygiene industry. Recognised as one of the most prestigious platforms for acknowledging excellence, innovation and leadership, the awards serve as a beacon of inspiration for professionals across the sector.

The BICSc Awards are held annually to celebrate outstanding contributions to the cleaning industry. From recognising individual achievements to spotlighting organisational excellence, the awards aim to elevate industry standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Each year, the event attracts professionals from various sectors, ranging from facilities management to environmental services.

The BICSc Awards 2025 promises to be no different, offering attendees and participants an opportunity to network, share best practices and witness the unveiling of innovative solutions. With the cleaning and hygiene industry playing an increasingly critical role in public health and environmental sustainability, the awards are more important than ever.

The BICSc Awards are not just about trophies and accolades: they play a vital role in shining a spotlight on the often underappreciated, yet essential work carried out by cleaning professionals. By celebrating their achievements, the event drives home the value of expertise, dedication and innovation in ensuring safe, hygienic and sustainable environments.

We were thrilled to receive a record number of nominations, which saw an incredible increase of 25% on last year, demonstrating how highly regarded the BICSc Awards are within the industry.
