RP ADAM LTD WELCOMES CALLUM KERR MP TO SELKIRK


FACTORY BASE RP Adam Ltd welcomed Calum Kerr, MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk, to its group Head Quarters in Selkirk to mark the company’s recent accreditation as a Scottish Living Wage employer and its endorsement of The Scottish Business Pledge. RP Adam made a commitment to both Government- led initiatives earlier in 2016 as part of the year-long celebrations of its 125th year of operation.


The Scottish Business Pledge is a partnership between Government and business geared to boosting productivity, competitiveness, sustainable employment and workforce development. As a primary requirement of the pledge, the Living Wage accreditation recognises employers for paying all their staff a fair wage – which is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually


WELSH CLEANING COMPANY NEARS FINAL STAGE OF


SCHOOL PROJECT A Swansea-based cleaning services company has recently completed the third of a four-phase project for Afon Taf High School in Merthyr Tydfil.


Clean Sweep has been contracted by Interserve, the international construction and support services group, conducting a live renovation of the high school, to complete cleaning services on each phase of the ongoing project.

Welcoming Mr Kerr, Managing Director, Robin Leith, said: “2016 has been a hugely significant year for our company, and I am delighted to share some of our anniversary milestones with our local Borders’ MP. As well as marking 125 years of operation, we have also made a significant major investment in the business both financially and also in our role as a responsible and caring employer.

As the renovation of the school is ongoing, often during term times, Clean Sweep has needed to adapt to new schedules when instructed, and when Interserve need specific areas cleaned, in preparation for the next stage of the rebuild.


Some of the services Clean Sweep has completed for Interserve and Afon Taf High School include full clean of the new buildings from ceiling to floor, as well as cleaning of the beams in the school’s sports hall.


The cleaning company has since secured further contracts for projects with Interserve as a result of the high level of service provided since the project commenced.

UK Operations Director, Lee-Anne Gillie also used the MP’s visit to highlight the commitment made by Arpal Group (RP Adam Ltd) in 2016 to the Meals & More scheme, a charitable programme spearheaded by major distributor The Brakes Group, aimed at tackling child poverty across the UK. She said: “We reported in August of this year from a base of 40 plus clubs operating currently, the aim is to have 500 operating by 2020 for 13 holiday weeks of the year – this would see 4.55 million children fed.”
