high standard of cleaning with ultimate efficiency and less strain on operatives. Its Co-botic 65 is designed to automatically navigate complex, real-world environments, adapting its path to any obstacles that it encounters and safely responding to encounters with people or animals. Meanwhile, its Co-botic 1700 can be programmed to vacuum spaces using the i-team professional app, or be left to program itself to perform the most efficient cleaning job.

The theme of robots and cobots in the cleaning industry will return among this year’s topics during the event’s popular conference programme, as Killis open the second day with a session on robots and cobots and how they can enhance current cleaning practices. A further session will see Cleanology CEO and Co-Founder, Dominic Ponniah, and Sales Director Stephen Lynch, explore how robotics and smart sensor technology can help facilities professionals manage workplaces in a new post-COVID era.

Making cleaning more sustainable

With a growing pressure to use fewer resources and minimise emissions and waste, sustainability is another hot topic set to be explored at the show. Dominating the agenda at this year’s conference programme, a series of speakers will offer their views on how to make the cleaning industry more sustainable. Among the speakers confirmed is Nina Wyers, Marketing and Brand Director at The Floorbrite Group, who will discuss what companies can do to support the global commitment to reduce CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gases.

Elsewhere, James Lee, Council Member of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA), will outline a roadmap towards sustainability and delve into their five key pillars helping businesses embrace environmental sustainability, including product, packaging, transportation, social value, and ethical and corporate environmental impact.

Steve Courtney, Product Specialist at Robert Scott, will discuss the latest in sustainable product development and

chemical-free cleaning systems that are reducing costs and eliminating single-use plastic waste, as well as cutting carbon emissions.

Jim Melvin, Chairman of the BCC, said: “With 1.47 million workers in the cleaning and hygiene sector, which is approximately 5% of the UK workforce, we sit firmly in the top 10 UK industries for employment. The tragic Coronavirus pandemic saw the industry gain recognition for the importance of our work, and the skill and hard work of our personnel in keeping people and places safe and healthy.

“Over the past two years, cleaning professionals from across the sector have demonstrated great bravery, determination, and skill. Let’s be very clear: this was achieved whilst working on the frontline in the fight against the pandemic. With this growing and much deserved recognition, we’re excited to return to Manchester for The Cleaning Show 2022 to discuss the critical role of the cleaning and hygiene sector post-pandemic, what the next chapter holds for the industry, and to celebrate our superb cleaning teams.”

Stuart Dacre, Event Director, The Cleaning Show, added: “After three years of no Manchester event, we’re excited to return and reconnect with the industry at an all-new venue as we move to the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

“Last year’s event at ExCeL, London, provided us with a clear message: there is an overwhelming appetite for in-person networking and collaboration among industry professionals. We are counting down the days, looking forward to a triumphant return to the Capital of the North, and excited to welcome the industry as they join us.”
