This month, AMA research provided us with an overview of the Underfloor Heating (UFH market, including the domestic distribution of UFH products and the sector’s future prospects.


Introduction The UK underfloor heating (UFH) market is broadly classified into three product types: water based, electric and combined heating systems and associated controls. UFH can be used in most buildings, whether new-build or refurbishment and systems are available to suit concrete and timber floor construction. UFH systems heat the room almost entirely by radiation with radiant energy emitted by the floor partly reflected by each surface and partly absorbed. Where it is absorbed, that surface becomes a secondary emitter.
