SUSTAINABLE FLOORING SOLUTIONS
When it comes to the healthcare sector, every doctor and dentist is aware that paying a visit to their surgeries may be a daunting experience and the overall appearance and cleanliness of their premises is a major factor in settling their patient’s nerves. Apart from a soothing colour scheme, the appearance, and safety of flooring in these areas is crucial, meaning more and more healthcare centres are taking steps to ensure that, not only do their floors look good, but that they are protected by anti-slip and anti-staining treatments.
Replacing flooring can be an expensive and time consuming exercise resulting in the closure of premises, problems of noise and dirt accumulation and the environmental issues of disposal of old flooring. Added to this are the logistical problems of moving sensitive equipment such as fixed dentist’s chairs, beds and free standing monitors - complete replacement of flooring is often the last resort, the better solution is to Refresh, Recolour and Refurbish.
Launched earlier this year, Traffik UK Ltd can now provide a range of innovative, new and sustainable solutions that will help to maintain, upgrade and revitalise problem flooring at a fraction of the price associated with complete renewal.

The company’s services include the recoating and hermetically sealing of existing floors with a liquid PU vinyl that is up to 10 times thicker than the original wear surface of a factory vinyl sheet. This is available in either a clear replacement coat, to maintain the original appearance, or a coloured coat to create a new dynamic feel - providing a cost saving of up to 60% over the replacement option. All Traffik’s services ensure a minimal downtime - turning unsafe and unsightly surfaces into safer BS compliant floors, providing cost effective anti-mark, anti-slip and anti-static solutions that are simple to maintain.
Julian Stoneman, Managing Director of Traffik, said: “For environmentally sensitive working spaces we
can provide solutions that ensure worn-out existing flooring is refreshed and receives long-term protection and that the new surfaces provided are stain and chemical resistant as well as being provided with anti-static and anti-slip properties. All floor surfaces are closed, especially important when taking into consideration future cleaning and hygiene concerns, and all flooring is provided with unlimited design freedom! Our principle aim, particularly in relation to the healthcare sector, is to take floor services to a new level, presenting a range of solutions that revitalises and reinvigorates their flooring options without the need for expensive replacement and, once installed, to help maintain and prolong the flooring’s life.”
Traffik’s service enables the company to offer tailored floor refurbishment and maintenance programmes including; replacing old and worn floors with brand new long lasting surfaces, bespoke floor design using a revolutionary PU Design system, anti-slip advice including Pendulum SlipTesting to determine if flooring meets HSE/BS
slip guidelines, anti-stain and ESD compliant surfaces including anti-static ESD compliant systems, vinyl floor maintenance and dry carpet cleaning.
