SUPPLIER STORIES

PROVEN SUSTAINABILITY FOR OVER 40 YEARS

RATIONAL are a sustainability-focused company, and we make sure that environmental concerns play a big role in our decisions. At our main office in Landsberg am Lech, Germany, we have systems in place to manage our impact on the environment. These systems are certified according to ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management. Each year, we set targets to reduce waste and our use of water, energy, and fuel.

In Landsberg and Wittenheim, we've managed to cut down electricity consumption per appliance by about 17% every year. We've set goals to use resources more efficiently in relation to the number of appliances we produce and the space we have available.

94% of company vehicles with internal combustion engines comply with the Euro-6 standards. We also use nine electric vehicles for in-house passenger transport and a further electric vehicle for post at our head office location.

WE MADE SIGNIFICANT STRIDES IN

REDUCING CO2 EMISSIONS BY SWITCHING TO

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES THROUGH OUR POWER SUPPLY AGREEMENT

Through using modern building technology, switching to green electricity produced from renewable sources and improving our production processes, we've been able to keep our CO2 emissions at a low level.

From 2010

to 2019, even as we doubled our appliance production, we kept our total CO2 emissions stable. In 2021, we made significant strides in reducing CO2 emissions by switching to renewable energy sources through our power supply agreement, and we also managed to cut down on air travel, which further reduced our CO2 footprint. This combination of reducing overall emissions and increasing sales allowed us to cut CO2 emissions per appliance produced in half.
