great taste and branding you’d find on a gas model, without the lengthy heat-up time and the wasted energy that goes along with this. The E600 rise and fall grill offers instant heat via infra-red elements and has pan detection technology so energy is only used when food is actually under the grill.
Falcon believes that it is important to provide foodservice operators with more choice. That’s why they’ve invested in developing hydrogen- ready appliances, becoming the first company to do so. Products available are a 6 burner range, chargrill, griddle, grills and fryer. These products are designed for on and off-grid use to support the UK Government’s efforts to scale up low carbon hydrogen supply. Paul Needley, managing director of Enertek International, the research and engineering consultants and hydrogen specialists, described Falcon’s launch as a ‘groundbreaking development.’ It’s important to have an alternative to electric products for those operators who want to lower their environmental impact but can’t or won’t switch to electric products.
It’s not just at a product level where Falcon focuses its sustainability efforts. Their environmental and energy policies outline their commitment to conducting activities in a legal and responsible manner and reducing environmental impacts. Falcon has an Integrated Management System, including ISO- 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems) accreditation. Sustainability is integrated into the company’s systems through policies, procedures,

The company also works closely with their distribution partner to minimise their carbon footprint. Being part of the large UK-wide Pallet Network allows for full wagon loads more often, providing greater utilisation and efficiency while detailed and practical route planning provides even more efficiency.

and evaluation. This involves monitoring and reporting energy usage, waste/water/packaging consumption, etc., with plans to reduce these to reach their Net Zero target. Monthly Environmental/ Energy meetings detail and evaluate performance, along with current improvement opportunities.
Environmental impact is monitored through the evaluation and reporting of their energy usage, waste/water/packaging consumption, etc. A recent Net Zero assessment was carried out, which in- cluded all scopes of ESOS to identify Falcon’s car- bon footprint and the opportunities to achieve their 2030 Net-Zero goal. Performance is monitored by the evaluation of KPIs and the implementation of improvements. This will be assessed further with interim carbon footprint reports. Environmental/ Energy management is championed by the SHEQ team along with directors and managers.
