SUPPLIER STORIES

AT THE FOREFRONT OF SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Winterhalter has always been at the forefront of manufacturing sustainable glass and dishwashers. Whether it’s the production, operation or disposal of our products, sustainability has always been a key consideration. We build quality products that are designed to last – there is no better form of sustainability. One machine lasting for ten years has far less environmental impact than two or three machines each lasting three or four years.

Winterhalter was the first and remains the

only catering equipment manufacturer to be awarded The Carbon Trust Footprint Label. The company also holds the Environmental Standard ISO 14001 for our production facility in Germany and our administration and distribution facilities in the UK.

Our machines are ultra-insulated because, like a house, the better the insulation, the less energy is consumed, since less power is needed for heating. This makes them even more sustainable, reducing both your carbon footprint and your running costs.

ALL OUR MACHINES HAVE ENERGY AND WATER SAVING FEATURES FITTED AS STANDARD:

• Specially designed smart wash arms enhance washing results while minimising rinse water consumption

• Quadruple filtration means wash water stays fresher for longer – less water consumption means less energy is needed to heat it

• Eco programmes extend the wash cycle but reduce energy consumption

• Software driven intelligence which ensures machines are only ever using the minimum in terms of energy and water to deliver the best hygienic results

• VarioPower adjusts water, power and chemical consumption to precisely match the items that are being washed

Water in your own bottles or carafes. Filled from a tap or water dispenser. More and more restaurateurs serve water to their guests in this way – and require a warewashing solution for this. Winterhalter has developed a bottle rack and a special adapter; any UC Series warewasher can become a bottle-washing system. Water is injected into the bottle directly via a special jet. This provides cleaning quality and hygiene that is certified in accordance with DIN SPEC 10534. All UC Series warewashers can accommodate the bottle rack.

Connected Wash means the machines can be monitored remotely, providing a window into their performance via a web app that can be accessed anywhere. It analyses data contained within the machine and produces easy-to- understand summaries to help ensure it is always running optimally and therefore sustainably. The app also makes recommendations for operational improvements that can help reduce running costs and improve sustainability. All our products have optional warm air or water heat exchangers that can reduce energy consumption considerably.

Driven rinse systems save up to 15% water per wash cycle.
