Pittcon 2024: Celebrating 75 years of empowering innovations

Professor Omowunmi (Wunmi) Sadik

In her lecture titled ‘Sustainable Nanomaterials for Sensing Human Health and the Environment,’ Professor Sadik will share insights into her group’s work, particularly their focus on understanding interfaces, especially the electrochemical interface. This knowledge is leveraged to drive innovative bio (analytical) sensor technologies aimed at enhancing human health and environmental outcomes.

The lecture is scheduled to take place during Pittcon 2024 on Sunday, 25 February at 5:00 pm.

The 2024 topic of the James L. Waters Symposium is ‘Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy’. Leading experts will discuss the progression, practical implementation, and latest innovations in instrumentation and its practical applications.

The outstanding panel of speakers who will be presenting at the Pittcon 2024 Waters Symposium includes: Shigeru Amemiya, University of Pittsburgh; Jiyeon Kim, University of Rhode Island; Janine Mauzeroll, McGill University; Joaquin Rodriguez, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; Michael Mirkin, CUNY, Queens College.

This session will take place during Pittcon on Monday, 26 February at 1:30-4.40 pm.

The 2024 Short Courses will take place from Saturday 24 – Wednesday 28 February. With over 60 options to choose from and catering to different skill levels - beginner, intermediate, and advanced - these courses can last anywhere from half a day to one full day. They cover a diverse range of analytical topics including bioanalytics, cannabis, energy, enviroscience, food science, forensics, industry, life sciences, nanotechnology, materials science, pharmaceuticals, and many more. Additionally, there are courses available on general lab functions such as industrial hygiene and safety, data management and data analysis, regulatory compliance and validation.

See a complete list of all short courses either by date or category with descriptions at https://pittcon.org/short-courses/

The 90-minute conferee networking sessions offer a chance for full attendee registrations to connect with others who share similar interests in a relaxed atmosphere, at no additional cost.
