Balances, Weighing Accessories & Moisture Analysers New analytical and precision balances
KERN & SOHN GmbH is launching new analytical and precision balances in the KERN ADS/ADT ranges (analytical balances) and KERN PDS/ PDT ranges (precision balances). Designed for laboratories, industry, and research, they offer high measurement accuracy.
They are equipped with a semi-touch display, which offers a combination of a touchscreen as well as the standard control buttons. The main functions, such as switching the weighing unit or carrying out the adjustment can be activated directly from the display.
There are two ways to carry out the adjustment. ADT (analytical) and PDT (precision) models have automatic adjustment with an internal weight, while ADS and PDS models use an external weight. This ensures flexibility for different applications and environments.
The new models provide rapid, stable measuring results through modern sensor technology. They offer various functions for diverse applications. The statistics function calculates key figures such as the average value and standard deviation. Tolerance weighing checks whether a weight is within predefined limits, piece counting determines quantities using a reference weight, and percentage weighing displays a sample’s weight as a percentage of a reference value.
Several transfer options are available for data processing. The Windows-Direct function sends weights directly to a Windows application using a USB device connection. As an alternative, the measurements can be forwarded to connected systems using RS 232 and USB (device).
The KERN Communication Protocol allows connection to a computer or CRM/ERP system, enabling measurement retrieval and remote control in automated processes. All models allow for GLP/ ISO compliant data logging, recording date, time, and a unique ID for each adjustment or weighing. This guarantees complete traceability and supports use in regulated laboratory and production environments in accordance with the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

Hemco’s SSE Balance Enclosure is engineered for safe, efficient operation in educational or light-duty lab settings. Designed for island or peninsula placement, the enclosure offers dual-side access - ideal for student workstations or small-scale procedures involving analytical balances.
Available in 24”, 36”, and 48” widths, the SSE accommodates a range of instruments and processes. Its robust construction features a chemical-resistant metal frame and ¼” clear acrylic sides and sash for excellent visibility.
A carefully engineered airflow system with integrated airfoil and bypass channels ensures contaminants are directed to a baffled exhaust, enhancing containment and protecting users. The ergonomic sash is angled at 15° for comfortable viewing, with an 8” reach-in height and full swing-up functionality, expanding the access opening to 20” when needed.
Additional features include two utility service ports located on the lower rear wall - one on each side - for flexible integration with lab services. More Information online:

Ohaus Corporation’s MB Series Moisture Analysers - MB32, MB62, and MB92 - offer enhanced precision, faster results, and improved usability. Designed to meet the evolving demands of modern laboratories and production environments, these updated models build on the trusted performance of previous MB analysers with upgraded components and a refined design.
The new instruments feature a durable, modern housing and incorporate an upgraded load cell alongside advanced carbon fibre heating technology. These upgrades deliver more stable and efficient moisture measurements, whether in routine lab testing or high-throughput industrial applications. Each model is tailored to different needs: the MB32 is ideal for everyday moisture testing, the MB62 offers flexibility across a wide range of sample types, and the MB92 provides high-precision analysis for users requiring top-tier accuracy.
Ease of use remains central to the MB Series design. All models feature intuitive controls, clear LCD or touchscreen interfaces, and robust navigation knobs that are easy to operate - even when wearing gloves. The MB92 includes a full glass control panel and a tool-free heating chamber, making both operation and cleaning straightforward and efficient.
Other key features include multiple data connectivity options for streamlined data transfer and carbon fibre heating for rapid temperature ramp-up and consistent drying. These improvements not only accelerate workflows but also extend the instruments’ lifespan in demanding environments.
“With these upgrades, we’re providing a reliable, high-performance solution for moisture analysis across laboratories and industries,” said Adam Cui, Product Manager at Ohaus. “The next-generation MB Series reflects our commitment to precision, user comfort, and long-term durability.”
