Microscopy Company Celebrates 50 Year Anniversary of Servicing Multiple Markets For over 50 years

Solvent Dry-Down for LC/MS Sample Preparation

Porvair Sciences has posted a new online video demonstrating how nitrogen blowdown evaporators offer a useful tool for removing the solvent dry-down bottleneck in LC/MS sample preparation.

In the new video the presenter demonstrates how nitrogen blowdown evaporators can quickly and easily remove most chromatographic solvents, enabling fast recovery of dry compounds and allowing re-suspension of unknown mixtures in optimised solvents for LC/MS analysis.

Additionally, the video introduces Porvair Sciences complete range of MiniVap and UltraVap blowdown evaporators.

Blowdown evaporators give signifi cant throughput advantages to laboratories looking to optimise microplate sample preparation productivity. Faster than centrifugal evaporation, signifi cant increases in sample throughput can be achieved through Porvair advanced evaporator head technology and innovative manifold design, which directly injects heated nitrogen into each individual well of the microplate simultaneously. Porvair Sciences blowdown evaporators have been designed to be simple to install, operate and maintain. Installation requires only connection to a gas supply or cylinder and mains electricity. Safety of operation is ensured as the CE marked compact units fi t into all fume cupboards. Both MiniVap and UltraVap blowdown evaporators may be operated with a supply of clean, dry compressed air in place of nitrogen, if the chemistry allows.

Meiji Techno has been providing quality microscopes to schools, labs and industrial manufacturing facilities. The company backs their products with a limited lifetime warranty and top- notch customer service. They have the most rigorous quality control measures in the microscope industry. Every microscope is inspected thoroughly before it leaves the factory in Japan to ensure that only the highest quality arrives in to the end-user’s laboratory bench, educational institution or manufacturing facility.

Meiji Techno products are designed to deliver many years of trouble free use even in harsh industrial environments. Customer maintenance should be limited to simple cleaning of the outer surfaces of the microscope with water and a mild detergent and occasionally cleaning the outer surfaces of the lens with a commercially available lens cleaning solution. Never use hydrocarbon or alkaline-based solvents or concentrated alcohol solutions to clean your microscope. Any other repair or maintenance should only be performed by an authorised Meiji Techno repair facility.

Support through education is most important to all at Meiji Techno. This is illustrated by one of the most comprehensive ‘frequently asked questions’ to be found on any microscopy manufacturer’s website. This shows confi dence not only in the products but also the people behind them. Training from the factory to the local dealer to the end user are all provided by Meiji Techno.
