Digital Water Baths Offer Exceptional Temperature Control and Functionality

PolyScience’s line of economical general purpose water baths combine exceptional temperature control with full-featured digital functionality and ease of operation. Designed to accommodate a wide variety of clinical and laboratory applications, these versatile water baths maintain bath temperatures from ambient +5° to 99°C with ±0.1° stability and ±0.2°C uniformity. They are available with 2, 5, 10, 20, or 28 litre single chamber reservoirs.

In addition to precise temperature control, PolyScience Water Baths feature a digital temperature readout that displays both the actual bath temperature and set point

temperature simultaneously, three user-defined temperature preset buttons for the quick selection of frequently used temperature set points and an integrated timer. Bath temperature can be displayed in either °C or °F. For added operational convenience, all models include a steeply gabled tilting cover that accommodates glassware of varying heights and permits easy loading and removal of samples while allowing condensate to drain neatly back into the bath. A high-clearance lid is available as an accessory for larger flasks or bottles. Baths with a 10 litre or large reservoir are also equipped with a reservoir drain. All models come equipped with a diffuser tray.

Next Generation Hotplate and Stirrer Announced

Wiggens’ innovative technology has been used to produce the new generation round top hotplate-stirrer WH240 series. The hot plate uses unique infrared technology with a power of up to 600W and the ceramic glass has a high infrared transparency which results in a very high heating efficiency in a standard round top plate of 135mm diameter. Optimised PID parameters allows many different kinds of applications.

A specially designed stainless steel protection ring, sealed outer shell of the top plate, and the robust ceramic glass can resist a thermal shock of 700ºC guaranteeing an enhanced longevity of the instrument. The control system has been updated to a higher level using a bright LCD display with adjustable backlight for user friendly monitoring and setup. Adjustable safety temperature setting using independent safety temperature circuit ensures a high safety level.

A well-chosen design with reliable embedded temperature sensors inside the ceramic glass top plate makes the control more stable and accurate. A wide range of accessories suitable for the standard top size can provide uniform heating for multiple size vials in parallel reactions with a superior stirring effect as well. The products are now available for the international market with various voltage standards.

Sustainable Digital Laboratory Oven Range Announced

Having made its name in the manufacture of energy-efficient electronic airflow control and monitors, Temperature Electronics Ltd (TEL) has expanded its offer to include a range of sustainable digital laboratory ovens.

Introduced in response to customer feedback, the ovens are suitable for most drying, warming and general laboratory applications. Featuring 65mm insulation, they ensure that heat is effectively retained within the unit and does not transfer to the outside of the oven. As such, they are more energy-efficient than many other ovens on the market which use 40mm insulation.

The units are fitted with a microprocessor control system with dual display of set point and actual temperature, facilitating precise temperature control. Available in eight standard sizes, ranging from 30 to 200 litres, the ovens can be customised to meet a laboratory’s specific requirements. TEL’s digital ovens are also easy to clean, featuring an exterior finished in a powder-coated paint and an interior made from either aluminium or stainless steel. The Incoloy sheathed elements that heat the oven are corrosion-resistant.

Said TEL’s Director, Richard Eady: “Many of our customers buying energy-efficient airflow controls and monitors require laboratory ovens too, so it simply made sense for us to diversify our offer to include a range of sustainable units.”

Established in 1969, TEL works in partnership with fume cupboard manufacturers, contractors and users in laboratories and industrial environments worldwide. The company’s full-service offer includes design consultation, product supply and installation, training and technical backup. It operates internationally via a supplier network covering Europe, the US, Africa and Asia.
