26 Gas Detection New Oxygen Sensor Launched

The recently introduced oxygen sensor O2/M-100 has attract a lot of attention. There are several reasons for its success:

The recently introduced oxygen sensor O2/M-100 from Membrapor (Switzerland) has attracted a lot of attention, with several reasons for its success.

The oxygen sensor does not have a limited lifetime; conversely to galvanic O2-sensors this type has no consumable parts, nor does change anything inside with time. Storage is unproblematic compared to sensors with sacrificial anode.

This sensor is fully RoHS compliant and does not contain any toxic metals in comparison to lead-based sensors. The O2/M-100 oxygen sensor is based on the same technology as MEMBRAPOR`s sensors for toxic gases; high quality gas sensors based on many years of experience.

The true 3-electrode sensor gives an exceptional high signal of 2.1 mA in air. This makes it possible to measure with a resolution of 0.05% over the whole range from

30% down to 0.1% of oxygen. A response time of t90 < 10 s. The sensor withstands high CO2 concentrations and shows high resistivity to acid gases. An operational temperature range of -40 to +50 °C comes as standard.

Edinburgh Instruments (UK) has a well-deserved reputation in the arena of infra-red gas sensing technology, with a track record spanning over 20 years. The company is continuing to build on this reputation with the introduction of its next- generation OEM sensor, named the Gascard NG.

Utilising established and proven technology from the existing Gascard range of instruments, the Gascard NG not only addresses existing customer requirements, being backward-compatible with the current Gascard model, but it also provides for future extendibility and functionality through improved communications and configuration options.

The main highlights of the Gascard NG include; backward-compatibility with the current generation of Gascard detectors, automatic temperature and pressure correction via on-board sensors and on-board RS232 communication.

Initially released in CO2 ppm & low per cent volume configurations, the range has now been extended to include all the different measurement ranges for CO2 as well as the other target gases covered by the current Gascard model, such as CO and CH4.

The new G400-MP2 pump from GfG (Germany) communicates with the gas detectors G450/G460. This interaction allows fault indication via the detector display. Low battery, blocked sampling line or interrupted power fault modes are shown on the display and activate different visual and audible warnings.

Gas samples can be taken from distances of up to 100 m with considerable low-pressure performance; the safe solution for confined space measurement.

The G400-MP2 is the only attachable pump available which may remain fixed to the detector. When the pump is turned on, the diffusion inlets are covered and the measurement results are not affected by air flows.

An additional filter system in the sampling line protects pump and sensors from dust and moisture. When the pump is turned off, the gas detector can be operated as usual. The diffusion inlets now allow all gases to enter the sensor chamber.

The G400-MP2 is operated on its own power supply, independently from the gas detector; i.e. the pump does not affect the operational time of the G450/G460. The pump power supply allows at least 10 hours of continuous operation.

Carbon Monoxide monitoring in car parks, residential and fire detection systems can specifically benefit from the low cost ECO-Sure®

CO sensor. Guaranteed to operate continuously for over five years, ECO-Sure is a revolutionary design of high

performance electrochemical sensor available as a single sensor and with circuitry to provide 4-20mA or digital output. For example, Euro-Gas offers a TÜV approved package for Carbon Monoxide detection, with conformity to VDI 2053 Standard, developed specifically for underground car park gas detection. Solutions are also available for Nitrogen Dioxide and flammable gas monitoring.

For medical applications, the LXH CO sensor is designed for the detection of Carbon Monoxide in air, where Hydrogen is a cross-interferent. The primary application of the LXH sensor is for breath measurement and is perfect for monitoring equipment utilised in ‘stop smoking’ programmes.

Utilising solid state technology, our fast response Hydrogen sensor presents lifetime of five years and choice of integrated transmitters for portable and fixed detection.

The latest Carbon Dioxide dual beam infrared sensors deliver speed and low power consumption at 3.5mW; ideal for portable and battery powered instruments. Also available are housed monitors with ppm and volume ranges, including the gas warning system for beer cellars.

Euro-Gas sensors and accessories suit a wide range of applications, including air quality, HVAC, automotive, process control and more. Euro-Gas is also a worldwide specialist in portable and personal gas detection equipment.
