10 Water/Wastewater Calibration Verification for Colorimeters
The Merck Millipore (Germany) Spectroquant® Picco or Multy colorimeters are mobile, robust instruments for reliable water analysis. They are simple to operate and pre- programmed for use with Spectroquant® test kits. Now two new reference standard kits for verifying the accuracy of the Picco and Multy instruments are available. Both kits include sealed cuvettes containing coloured test solutions and a blank, quality documentation and an instruction manual all packed in a handy carrying case. The reference standards have been validated as specified in the accompanying quality certificate. They provide you with reassurance that your results are both accurate and reliable.
Spectroquant® Reference Standard for Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide and Ozone; kit contains 3 sealed cells containing stable, colored solutions plus 1 sealed blank cell, quality certificate and user instructions. Suitable for use with the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Picco Cl2/O3/ClO2/CyA/pH and the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Multy.
Spectroquant® Verification Standard for Spectroquant® Multy colorimeter; kit contains 6 sealed cells containing stable, coloured solutions for measuring the absorbance at 430 nm, 530 nm, 560 nm, 580 nm, 610 nm, and 660 nm plus 1 sealed blank cell, quality certificate and user instructions. Suitable for use with the Spectroquant® Colorimeter Multy

New Version Water Level and Temperature DataloggerIntroduced
Solinst Canada has introduced a new version of the Levelogger water level and temperature datalogger. The new Levelogger Junior Edge provides a cost-effective option for groundwater or surface water monitoring applications.
The Levelogger Junior Edge has improved features, including the same durable Hastelloy pressure sensor as the Levelogger Edge, which has superior corrosion resistance, and can withstand 2 times over-pressure without permanent damage.
The Levelogger Junior Edge has an increased memory capacity of 40,000 sets of water level and temperature data points, a 5-year battery, and accuracy is 0.1% FS. Sampling is linear at a user-defined interval from 0.5 seconds to 99 hours.
If greater accuracy, sampling options, or ranges are required, the Levelogger Edge has the functionality to suit your application. The Levelogger Edge has 0.05% accuracy, a 10-year battery, superior corrosion resistance and memory for up to 120,000 datapoints using the linear compressed sampling option.
Operation of the Levelogger Junior Edge and Levelogger Edge is very intuitive with user-friendly Levelogger software, and trouble- free optical infrared communication makes installation easy, using Solinst 2" Locking Well Caps for stainless steel wireline/Kevlar cord or Direct Read Cable deployment. They can also communicate with SDI-12 Systems using a special interface cable, as well as Solinst Telemetry Systems.
The Levelogger Junior Edge and Levelogger Edge are absolute pressure dataloggers, therefore a Barologger Edge and Levelogger Software provides the easiest and most accurate method for barometric compensation of water level data. Using the Software's Data Compensation Wizard, you can barometrically compensate multiple Levelogger files simultaneously, with just one Barologger Edge file.
The Levelogger Junior Edge provides consultants and researchers a cost-effective option for groundwater and surface water monitoring projects.

Two-Wire Liquid Transmitters Introduced
Emerson Process Management announces a new family of two-wire liquid instruments featuring the broadest range of measurement parameters available, advanced communications capabilities and unique ease-of-use features. The Rosemount® Analytical 1066 transmitters are suitable for many industrial applications including those with exacting performance requirements such as pharmaceutical and food and beverage, and in harsh environments such as chemical plants, metals processing, and effluent monitoring. The 1066 Series has the latest version of HART® 7, and they are the industry’s first pH transmitters to be registered under the Interoperability Test Kit 6 (ITK6) from FOUNDATION fieldbus.
The Rosemount Analytical 1066 family of transmitters can measure pH, ORP, resistivity/conductivity, per-cent concentration, total dissolved solids, total chlorine, free chlorine, monochloramine, dissolved oxygen and dissolved ozone. A second sensor input allows continuo us pH correction for free chlorine measurement.
According to Dave Anderson, Marketing Director, Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical, "The 1066 transmitters are feature-rich and cost-effective, and
include many capabilities that we have implemented into our high-end instruments such as SMART pH sensor capability, which eliminates the need for field calibration. The instruments’ SMART capabilities also enable them to accept pre-calibrated Rosemount Analytical SMART pH sensors, saving time and money for field technicians."
The 1066 FOUNDATION fieldbus transmitter can use analogue output function blocks to link to temperature and pressure measurements from the bus for temperature and pressure compensation, whi ch can increase the accuracy and responsiveness of the measurement. The 1066 also has a full complement of analogue control and math function blocks for use by the 1066 or other devices on the bus to facilitate control in the field. ITK 6 compliance also brings with it new features including field diagnostics, which provide user configurable alerts and common software downloads, which makes transmitter software upgrades possible without taking the transmitter out of service.
The HART version of the 1066 is switchable between HART 5 and 7, allowing the 1066 to be used with HART 7 capable hosts, as well as legacy hosts. The added features of HART 7 include publishing status and a time stamp with live measurements, and long tag names (32 characters) which makes it possible to describe the location and application of a transmitter more completely.
