Electrochemical Gas Sensors
Gas detector manufacturers the world over have great appreciation of the direct contact they have with our team. Every year there are more and more who count on our expertise, support and the quality of our sensors.
We have more than 300 sensors, made to measure >20 gases with your: • fixed-point detection systems
• air quality monitors
• portable gas detectors • flue gas analysers
and easy on-site bump testing Ion Science has launched an optional Premium Plus Case for its range of high performance Tiger handheld photoionisation detectors (PIDs). Capable of holding various PID accessories, the rugged, environmentally sealed Premium Plus Case has been specially developed by Ion Science to accommodate a 34L gas cylinder, allowing quick and easy on-site bump testing of its well proven Tiger volatile organic compound (VOC) monitors.
A bump test is a functional test of a gas monitor. Although not a regulatory requirement, it is the only way to ensure optimum performance of both sensors and monitor before use. It checks that the instrument respond to the challenge gas, verifi es the display reacts and confi rms that alarms are activated properly. The recommended bump test frequency is normally set by the instrument manufacturer. A bump test works by briefl y exposing the instrument to a known concentration of the challenge gas that exceeds alarm settings to confi rm the sensor’s ability to respond. The reading is compared to the actual quantity of gas present, as stated on the test gas cylinder. The instrument is working to the required standard if it goes into alarm and reads within an acceptable range of the actual concentration. If the bump tests are not within the acceptable range, the PID must be fully calibrated before use.
Offering a robust and reliable design, the popular Ion Science Tiger handheld PID provides the widest measurement range on the market of 1ppb up to 20,000ppm. It is easy to set up and provides advanced VOC detection and software features. It has a fast response time of just two seconds and can be connected directly to a PC via the USB offering rapid data download capabilities. The TigerLT is a streamlined, low cost version of the Tiger instrument. The entry-level PID also offers worldwide intrinsically safe certifi cation for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and is ideal for environmental surveys. Another handheld gas detector, the Tiger Select boasts two mode operation for the rapid and accurate detection of benzene and total aromatic compounds (TACs). Utilising the Ion Science 10.0eV lamp, a reading for TACs is seen immediately on start-up. Should TACs be detected, a pre-fi lter tube can be easily attached to ensure rapid detection and selective measurement of benzene.

The PQ series is divided in to the PQN and PQD detectors, which feature an OLED display, to provide the best solution for developing industry conditions and customer demands.
Analytical Technology’s pioneering AutoTest feature is the ONLY Gold Standard in gas detection available, making it the safest gas monitor in the world.
The ONLY gas detector that automatically generates gas and tests itself daily, making it the safest product in the world.
Rest Easy knowing your safety systems are working 24/7.
ATi’s patented design automatically checks itself daily with self- generated gas, allowing for safer and more confi dent monitoring - far exceeding any current and potential health and safety regulations.
unique feature is designed to detect and monitor potentially hazardous toxic and fl ammable gas leaks, to ensure the safest possible working environment. It provides an early warning alarm if gas escapes, allowing for timely remedial or protective actions to be undertaken.
Conventional gas detection systems require costly manual ‘bump tests’ and annual service contracts, however ATi’s new generation, highly intelligent AutoTest feature offers peace of mind, knowing that it is functioning daily.
ATi’s innovative AutoTest technology is set to revolutionise the way gas detectors of the future work. With both safe area and ATEX approved equipment, toxic and fl ammable gas detection need never again be a guessing game. Companies can now rest easy, knowing their safety systems are working 24/7.

PQ fi xed gas detectors offer the best solution for LEL and ppm measurements using pellistor, infrared, electrochemical sensors. These instruments offer the operator instant and up to date details of the status and ambient conditions of the targeted gas via the OLED display on the simple to use software, who can be easily adjusted. The PQD’s SH30 stainless steel sensor head enables a superb performance under harsh environmental conditions. 4-20mA and RS485 (Modbus RTU) outputs are simple to operate by connecting to Prosense gas detection panels or a suitable PLC. These detectors can operate with optional P-3R relay cards and 3 dry contact relay outputs. Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 relays are easy to set to default LEL or ppm levels. The third dry contact relay output is used for fault status.
PQ gas detectors can be safely used in potentially explosive atmospheres thanks to the ATEX certifi cation and EN 60079-29-1 performance test with the IP-65 protection class, which can be used safely in harsh outdoor conditions. With the optional P-IP66, these instruments can still withstand and operate even in the path of heavy jets of water.
