Safety Reliable and Cost

Effective Gas Sensing DD Scientifi c, having already already developed an enviable market position in electrochemical technology for toxic gases and oxygen has now identifi ed an unaddressed requirement for cost effective but reliable fl ammable gas sensors.

Based on proven, and widely used catalytic bead sensing methods our new pellistor sensors will provide high performance and robust detection of many common fl ammable gases such as methane, propane and butane. Benefi ting from recent advances in coil coating processes the sensors will deliver minimised variation and greater resilience to environmental contamination.

The sensors were be unveiled at the Sensor and Test exhibition in Nuremberg between May 30th and June 2nd.

Commenting on their launch, Kevin Brown, Development Manager said, “These are exciting times for DD Scientifi c and our customers as we continue to innovate in gas sensing technology. We have a great reputation for electrochemical sensors and our new pellistor devices will further cement our position as the number one choice for gas sensing solutions.”

The New LASER Technology for Hydrocarbons and Ammonia

Effi ciency and safety at the highest levels. The series of Laser gas detectors use technique of TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Spectrometry) to monitor the presence of hydrocarbons and for ammonia. This technique is based on the fact that the gas has a unique and well defi ned light absorption curve in the infrared spectrum that can be used to identify the specifi c gas.

This LASER instrument technology has been developed in accordance with the EN50402 Standard in order to guarantee better performance and functional safety in case of failure. All LASER technology detectors have been SIL 2 HW and SIL 3SW certifi ed according to EN50402. SENSITRON detectors can be customized to suit the end user needs.

Some features (standard or optional according to model): • 4-20mA outputs, RS485 and relays • Non-intrusive one-man calibration • Hart Modem • SIL 2 HW and SIL 3 SW • Low detection level of hydrocarbons (ppm available) • Very fast response time

Please note that in order to achieve a complete SIL2 or 3 certifi ed gas detection system, the detectors have to be combined with control panels with the same certifi cation level such as Galileo Series control panels, capable of supervising from 8 to 256 detectors. More details on detectors and control panels are available on the website www.sensitron.it For More Info, email:

Small in Size, Huge in Performance - Expanded Gas Detector Range

Small in Size, Huge in Performance - The LRM-202 (TO46 housing) and the LRM-254 (TO39 housing) expand InfraTec’s range of miniaturised multi-channel detectors. In their cap a central window has been added, that can be soldered to the housing to create a complete hermetic seal. The channel fi lters are placed inside the detectors. There, they are shielded from mechanical and physical stress as well as from other strains from harsh environments. While the fi eld of view is signifi cantly wider, more radiation reaches the pyroelectric element and allows a higher signal. Therefore, the whole series proves to be extremely powerful. Being thermally compensated these detectors are suitable for gas analysis and leakage detection and can be used in stationary and portable devices.
