Measurement and Testing Ideal Hand-Held Industrial Combustion Gas Analyser

E Instruments’ (USA) new E2200 combustion gas analyser offers field-replaceable and pre-calibrated gas sensors for O2, CO, & NO/NOx, a built-in printer (Non-Thermal) and unbreakable metal pneumatic connectors

The new, updated E2200 portable combustion analyser is an all-in-one unit for boiler, burner, engine, turbine, furnace, and other combustion applications. Pre-calibrated and field replaceable sensors allow for easy diagnostics and replacements to reduce “down-time” and costly repair charges.

The E2200 also includes O2 (0-25%), CO (0-8000 ppm), and NO/NOx (0-4000 ppm) sensors, efficiency, excess air, and CO2 % calculated values, stack gas and ambient air temperature measurements, draft and differential pressure measurements, a 12” probe with 10’ dual hose and optional

hose extensions, rechargeable battery and AC charger, an internal memory to save data, a software package with PC communications cable and a hard plastic carrying case.

Discover Cracks and Leaks With Multi-Purpose Borescope

Spectronics Corporation (USA) has introduced the Cobra™ and Cobra-Plus™, part of the Cobra™ series of multi-purpose borescopes. Both scopes feature a built-in UV LED and white light LED. It enables industrial technicians to accurately detect refrigerant and fluid leaks, uncover cracks in heat exchangers, conduct boiler and ductwork inspections, diagnose evaporator coils and much more!

The UV LED is ideal for finding refrigerant leaks, fluid leaks and surface flaws, while the white light is perfect for general inspection.

The CB-1000 Cobra™ has a 10mm, 24” shaft, while the CB-1036 Cobra-Plus™ has a 10mm, 36” shaft for inspections requiring additional reach.

Included with both scopes is a clip-on mirror, which provides the added capability to detect flaws normally hidden from view. The borescope features advanced 7400 pixel imaging bundle and an adjustable-focus eyepiece for crystal-clear viewing. Four “AA” alkaline batteries (included) power the two service-free, integrated solid-state LEDs. Fluorescence-enhancing glasses for use with UV light and fluorescent leak detection dyes are also included. Dyes are sold separately. All components are packed in a sturdy plastic carrying case with foam insert.

GE Analytical Instruments (USA) is pleased to announce the new Sievers InnovOx On-Line Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyser. Like the InnovOx Laboratory model, the new InnovOx On-Line is designed for the industrial wastewater, environmental, and process water industries.

The InnovOx (short for “Innovative Oxidation” technology) uses a patent- pending technology, Supercritical Water Oxidation (SWCO). SCWO combines high temperature and pressure to convert an aqueous sample matrix into supercritical water, a phase in which the water is neither liquid nor gas, and where Supercritical Water Oxidation can occur. This results in more efficient oxidation, better TOC measurement accuracy and precision, and the elimination of problematic sample contamination after analysis.

The Sievers InnovOx measures from 0.5 to 50,000 parts per million (ppm) TOC. It features extended calibration stability, user-configurable alarms and outputs, an Ethernet Web browser interface for remote monitoring, and an intuitive colour touch-screen display. The InnovOx is extremely easy to set up, operate, and maintain, and offers a low cost of ownership.

Watchdog Discovers Oil Leaks

The new Watchdog Oil Alarm OM5 from Afriso (Germany) has been designed for the detection of oil leaks in catchment chambers or drip trays, inspection shafts, pipe or cable ducts as well as in pumping and control stations. The oil alarm consists of a control unit and a maximum of 5 sensing probes (for 5 independent detection locations), the probes being connected to the unit by 3-core signal cables.

The probes are always positioned at the lowest points of the areas to be monitored; in the event of an oil leak a visual and audible alarm is immediately initiated by the control unit which incorporates a mute

button for silencing the audible alarm. The 1- 5 probes which caused the alarm are shown on the control unit. The compact instrument incorporates all indication and operating elements as well a voltage-free relay contact for additional external switching functions. The control unit is suitable for use with 230V AC and is designed for easy wall mounting. Using an optionally available mounting frame, the high impact plastic housing can also be integrated quickly and simply into control consoles or control panels.

Watchdog Oil Alarm OM5 detects heating oils EL, L, M, diesel fuels and low viscosity lubricating oils of Group/Danger Class A III, engine, gear and hydraulic oils as well as vegetable and transformer oils. The oil alarm carries the General Building Regulations Approval Z-65.40-214. (DIBt)

Cox Communication Center Oklahoma City, Oklahoma May 11 – 13, 2010

Presented annually since 1924, the school is the oldest and one of the largest hydrocarbon measurement schools in the world. With more than 160 technical classes on gas and liquid measurement and control, over 40 special hands-on- workshops, and 110 manufacturer exhibits, this school provides students with a comprehensive learning opportunity.

147 New Flame Ionisation Detector

45

Photovac Inc., (USA) is pleased to introduce the new DataFID flame ionisation detector Fast measurement of volatile organic compound (VOC) exposure is essential for industrial hygiene, emergency response, and environmental monitoring applications; and, the DataFID flame ionisation detector from Photovac offers this capability in a portable and easy to operate instrument.

The DataFID (patents pending) features a built-in Bluetooth device to transfer data wirelessly to a PDA or computer. A unique metal hydride hydrogen fuel cylinder supplies up to 70 hours of continuous use, thereby saving valuable time by allowing multiple shifts to use the DataFID without returning for a refill. The hydrogen cylinder is UN3468 classified, so it can be shipped full of hydrogen via air cargo. For the first time, an optional supplemental air tank provides readings in high concentration environments up to 100,000 ppm and in oxygen-deprived locations such as high altitudes. The DataFID meets and exceeds the requirements of EPA Method 21 for fugitive emissions, also known as leak detection and repair (LDAR). It is rated intrinsically safe for use in Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous environments.
