Kin-Tek’s (USA) new FlexStream™ modular gas standards generating system offers total flexibility for creating precision gas mixtures. The FlexStream™ system dilutes the emission from permeation or diffusion tubes with an inert gas, typically nitrogen or zero air, to create trace concentration – ppm, ppb, and pptr – mixtures. An internal microprocessor sets the operating mode and adjusts dilution flows to achieve desired concentrations.
The FlexStream™ system expands the capabilities of the recently introduced microprocessor-controlled, stand-alone FlexStream™
Permeation Tube Unit. The new FlexStream™ system features up to six independently controlled channels. These channels can be permeation units or may combine permeation units with secondary dilution to expand the concentration range. Mixtures containing up to 48 components are possible. The FlexStream™ can use all Kin-Tek™ Trace Source™ permeation and diffusion tubes.
The FlexStream™ system can also be controlled remotely by a PC or process computer using Modbus® connectivity. Using an external PC
allows remote control of the FlexStream™, uploading methods (recipes) that can run automatically, and evaluating ‘scenarios’ to aid in setting up the unit to create specific mixture concentration ranges.

Teledyne Leeman Labs (USA) announce the release of a new Mercury Analyser designed for enhanced performance and productivity.
The Hydra IIAA delivers both performance and productivity. Its low, 1 ppt detection limit, fast sample throughput (~ 1min./sample) and high capacity autosampler (up to 270-positions) will enhance the productivity of any laboratory. The Hydra IIAA incorporates intuitive new software that automates the analytical process from Method Development to Final Report Generation. GR Scientific’s (UK) Aquamax TAN (total acid number) titrator has been designed to offer maximum specifications and features whilst being priced at a very competitive level. This user-friendly titrator conforms to ASTM D664 for determination of acidic constituents in petroleum products, lubricants and transformer insulating oils.
The Aquamax TAN, which comes with a 5 year warranty, offers specific titration programs depending on the expected TAN of the sample. This instrument includes a data logger for the last 50 titration results, a high precision 10ml syringe with
