The performance of different brands of low retention tips can easily be compared by aspirating and dispensing a detergent solution containing bromophenol blue, rinsing the tip with water to remove any remaining solution in the tip, then measuring the absorbance of the rinsing water at 595 nm using the Eppendorf BioPhotometer plus.
