New Multifunctional Vacuum Controller for Corrosive Applications
The new Wiggens DVR 480 is a multifunctional vacuum controller for connection to existing pumps or vacuum networks. All the parts are made of PTFE or highly anti-corrosive ceramics and can therefore come in contact with gases or condensation making this controller suitable for all corrosive applications. The advanced electronic technology signifi cantly increases the effi ciency of lab process, such as vacuum-stat process inside the chemical reactors, solvent recovery on a rotary evaporator, as well as environment protection. It has precise vacuum control from 0.1 mbar to 1000 mbar. The DVR 480
supports the programming of up to a 5-step control, which is suitable for distillation operations, especially for applications with dual or more boiling points distillation. The unit has a bright LED display and convenient touch control. Digital (RS-232/485) and analogue connections enable remote control via PC, PLC or other central controlling systems, making it easy to use in chemical reaction systems. The versatile DVR 480 can be used as a desktop version, mounted on stand bar or installed in electrical cabinet.

The TOC module is based on a chemical oxidation process supported by high-energy UV radiation, ensuring complete digestion of all organic compounds. The modular concept allows the attachment of optional extra modules for the additional determination of total nitrogen and phosphorus in water (patent pending). For increased sample throughput, an autosampler is available, offering several carousels for different sample vial sizes.
Furthermore, a combustion furnace module for solid samples can be attached as well. The dynamic heater design allows TOC analysis of solids via acidification prior to combustion at constant temperature, but also the determination of TOC, TIC and ROC with the new, more advanced method via temperature ramping without acidification.
