New Spraying Device for the Automated Derivatisation of TLC Plates An experienced and skilled

analyst using a manual spraying device for derivatisation may produce a rather homogeneous reagent distribution on the TLC plate, but even so, reproducible results are out of reach. With the new Camag Derivatizer, this step is no longer user- dependent. The Camag Derivatizer is an automated spraying device which sets

new standard of reproducibility in the reagent transfer onto TLC plates by employing an innovative ‘micro droplet’

spraying technology (patent pending). The Camag Derivatizer ensures homogeneous and reproducible application of all common reagents. To meet the diverging physicochemical properties of the different reagents, e.g. acidity or viscosity, four different colour-coded spray nozzles are employed. In addition to the significantly increased reagent distribution homogeneity, the Derivatizer offers further advantages compared to manual spraying: Environmentally friendly and safe handling through a closed system; Intuitive handling and easy cleaning; Low reagent consumption through efficient operation (4 mL for 20 x 20 cm plates and 2 mL for 20 x 10 cm plates); Reproducible and user-independent results.

40371pr@reply-direct.com 7168ad@reply-direct.com Antec Scientific is the New Trade Name of Antec Leyden BV and Antec (USA) LLC

Antec headquartered in Zoeterwoude, The Netherlands with sales offices in Boston, MA, USA, provider of electrochemical detectors for use in (U)HPLC and electrochemical reactors for use in Mass Spectrometry, announced today the corporate name change to Antec Scientific, effective immediately. The name change comes along with a new Corporate Identity and the launch of an updated website later this month.

CEO and President Jean-Pierre Chervet said: “Over the last few years, Antec has become more and more scientifically engaged with national and international collaborations from academia and industry. Internships of young scientists such as masters, PhD fellows, post-docs but also trainings of research fellows from industry in electrochemistry have become common practice at Antec. Furthermore, we have increased our focus on product innovation and new applications reflected in recent patent applications and granted patents.”

“We are very excited about the introduction of our new company name. We believe the name Antec Scientific allows us to better represent our business and reflects much better what we are doing, i.e, not only manufacturing and selling scientific instruments but also the knowledge and expertise to become successful in the use of electrochemistry,” added Martin Eysberg, the company’s Sales and Marketing Director.

“Changing our name to Antec Scientific formalises a shift in corporate strategy that has been underway for several years and we will pursue this strategy to provide our customers with state-of-the-art electrochemical instruments as well as with the knowledge to become successful in the field,” said Dr Nico Reinhoud, Antec’s Managing Director.
