The Anoki Foundation raises funds to dig water wells in Pakistan
Restaurant’s mission to provide clean water
Fine dining restaurant Anoki has launched a new charitable initiative to provide poverty-stricken areas in Pakistan with clean water. The company, which has restaurants in Derby, Nottingham and Burton, has
launched The Anoki Foundation to raise funds to dig water wells in Pakistan. According to research carried out by WaterAid in 2018, 21 million people
from a total population of 207 million in Pakistan still don’t have access to clean water. Each water well costs £150 and will provide up to 200 families with access to clean water for drinking, washing and cooking, as well as keeping livestock hydrated. Anoki founder Naveed Khaliq said: “Getting water out of the tap is
something many of us take for granted and it’s truly devastating that in 2020, so many millions of people across the world still don’t have access to clean water.” Bottles of specially-branded mineral water are on sale at Anoki’s
Helen Lloyd, of Arnold Foodbank, with volunteer Marie Longford
restaurants priced £2 each, with all proceeds going to the appeal. Corporate sponsorship packages are also available, whereby a company can donate £150 for the construction of a well and, for an additional £28, arrange a marble plaque inscribing a chosen name.

Have you heard about the new Job Support Scheme?
With effect from 1st November 2020, the Government are supporting businesses by introducing the Job Support Scheme, which will replace the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. To receive the financial support, employees are required to work a third of their usual working hours. Small and medium-sized businesses will be eligible; larger businesses will need to meet a financial assessment test.
But what does that mean for businesses?
It’s decision time. The new scheme isn’t as flexible and therefore, in some ways, employers are being forced to make decisions on the future of their business and its employees.
We are offering FREE ADVICE, in the form of a 15-minute session.
