Search is on for committee members


The process is underway to elect eight new Future Faces executive committee members and two new vice presidents. The new executive committee and a new


president will be announced at the organisation’s annual general meeting, which takes place online on Thursday 26 November. Members can now submit applications for a


place on the 2020-21 executive committee by downloading an application form the Chamber website and returning it to ffcommittee@birmingham-chamber.com The deadline for applications is 5pm on


Friday 5 November. If there are more executive committee


applications than there are positions, a member vote will take place between Friday 6 November and Monday 23 November.


The committee meets every six weeks for


approximately one hour to discuss a range of issues related to the activities of Future Faces. Committee members are required to


contribute ideas and feedback, attend a minimum of 75 per cent of committee meetings per year and attend at least eight Future Faces events event per year. They are also required to support and


promote Future Faces as ambassadors. A new Future Faces president is also set to


be welcomed at this year’s AGM, with Mark Hipwell completing his term. It takes place from 12 to 12.45pm on 26

Young professionals to share stories of lessons learned


Five Future Faces members will be sharing their stories at an event designed to inspire students and reduce the risk of underemployment. The Chamber’s young professionals’ arm is


teaming up with Transformation West Midlands for the event on 12 November. The ‘Lessons from a young professional’


webinar will see established young professionals discuss their experiences in the world of work, a well as offering their tips to students. It will cover relatable insights into how these


professionals have built their career paths and how to enter the world of work. There will also be the chance to ask them questions. The five Future Faces members confirmed to


be taking part are disability activist Shani Dhanda (pictured), accountant Jo Drinkwater, Future Faces vice-president Jaccy Datta, Imani Clough of the Imani Academy and Michelle


Adams of law firm Squire Patton Boggs. President Mark Hipwell is hosting the event. Future Faces manager Anna Assinder said:


“We’re pleased to be teaming up with Transformation West Midlands to help connect local students with local young professionals. “We hope the event will help to inspire and


educate, as well as playing a part in reducing the risk of unemployment or underemployment for students.”
