Page 8 Art Show Big Hit at Summer


Workshop! The Florida Federation of Fairs Board of Direc- tors and committee chairs met Friday Morning September 25 at the Pasco County Fairgrounds. During the breakfast and lunch break, Tracy Thompson of the Pasco County Fair held a short art class. The tables were covered in craft paper and a variety of markers, colored pencils and crayons were spread across the tables. The ob- jective given to the directors that morning was to create a drawing or sketch depicting something fair related. Those drawings and sketches would later be displayed at the Summer/Fall workshop in Dan Cannon Auditorium. The workshop at- tendees would choose a "People's Choice" award for the best artwork, of the Twelve (12) drawings/sketches on dis- play. Rhonda Ward, of Collier County, was chosen for the "People's Choice" award. Rhonda received a gift card from Olive Garden/Red Lobster. Some of the artists (directors) that participated were: Bill Olson, Stacey Wade, Rita DeMier Lincoln, Hal Porter, Jay Spicer, Doris Graska, and Federation President, Jim Ward. Several pieces of the artwork were also given as door prizes at the end of the workshop to guests, those guests received artwork from Jim A. Ward and Rita DeMier Lincoln.
