Hello Fair Folks! As we welcome Fall, we have


seen more challenges in the entire fair industry. Many of us thought we would get through the summer and the pandemic would be behind us. However, that was not to be. Fairs across the country have had to change their plans due to Covid- 19 and that includes a number of fairs right here in the Sun- shine State. With everything that is going on around us, I can tell you that fair folks are some very determined people. Whether they are in fair management, a fair board member, food vendor or in the entertainment sector, they are deter- mined to work together to see that this piece of Americana is still standing at the end of the day. Just last month, we held the Summer/Fall Workshop in


Dade City at the Pasco County Fairgrounds. There were 72 people in attendance with about 20 Florida fairs represent- ed. Various discussions were held on topics like insurance, legal issues and how we can keep our fair patrons safe. A special thanks to Marla Calico and Andrew Vandepopulier for attending and giving great talks to our group. Everyone is willing to work together, which has always been our great- est strength and will be for as long as there are fairs. The Pasco County Fair Association went above and beyond


the call of duty to welcome everyone with genuine hospitali- ty. It was a wonderful time for all of us to get together in person. I think everyone left the fairgrounds feeling very uplifted and ready to tackle the challenges that are before us. If you were not able to attend, please reach out to those who did with any questions you may have. We would also like to thank all of the sponsors that made the workshop possible.
