Faircracker FALL 2020

Hillsborough County Fair October 25-November 1, 2020

The 2020 Hillsborough County Fair will be moving forward with a modified restricted fair for this year. Due to the current COVID 19 situation in our county, our board of directors voted to move forward with a few aspects of our fair that they believe are the foundation of our fair. The youth livestock shows will run from

Oct 22-25 and Oct 29-Nov 1. Our first weekend we will host our market animals including market steer, 80 swine, 35 market lambs and 35 market turkeys. We have modified the livestock schedule so we can house one species per area to limit the number of animals and exhibitors in one area. The second weekend we will host our breeding animals consist- ing of poultry, dairy, beef breeding show, breeding sheep and goats. Each show will be limited to the youth exhibitor and their immediate family. We will practice social distancing. We will be following all county ordinances and guidelines. We will also host a live market animal auction that will be broadcast from the show ring to a separate area where buyers will see the sale on a screen and the bidding will take place. We are also offering a real-time online auction and the capabil- ity for phone bids. The online auction will be run by cowbuyer.com and will give buyers the capability to register before the sale and bid online. We held our 2020 Harvest Queen Scholarship Pageant for our junior and senior Harvest Queen We on Sept 19, 2020

and was a closed event for the contestant and their immediate family. Unlike previously, we held the junior pageant and senior pageant separately to limit the number of guests in our exhibition hall and to protect our contestants, committee members and judges. Also during Oct 23-25 and Oct 30-Nov 1, 2020 we will host our first-ever Taste of the Fair event. Fair food vendors will

be available these dates in our parking area for the community to come enjoy their fair food and to fulfill their craving for their favorite fair treat! Though we are not having a full fair, the board members and staff hope that these events are successful, and we can

provide the youth of our community to come compete and not miss their county fair! We are already planning for 2021 and hope that things will return to normal soon!
