Association During the time of uncertainty and unexpected changes,
event professionals were able to join our peers and col- leagues for the Florida Festival & Events Association "RESILIENT TOGETHER LIVE SUMMITT & VIRTUAL CONFERENCE". The annual conference hosted both an in- person Summit, August 19th-20th, as well as a full Virtual Conference, August 25th-27th. Attendees heard from industry leaders about building
stronger and safer events, challenges to meet Health & Safety standards and attended education seminars regard- ing hot topics affecting our industry. Attendees were also able to collaborate with their peers and meet vendors. It was a great time and many of our fair leaders attended, Jay Spicer with Martin County Fair attended his first conference, "This was my first time attending an FFEA conference (albeit virtual). in person this August. First off what a great conven- tion. Suzanne and her team did a wonderful job bring- ing us all together in the middle of a pandemic to grow, learn, better ourselves and our businesses. The joy I felt to be surrounded by people in the same in- dustry was amazing and so needed. Things were very different. There was a much smaller group of us that attended, classes were smaller, PPE kits were given, we were sanitized and temperature checked daily, and masks were worn everywhere we went. With all that said, I never felt like I was missing out. Classes were great and filled with an enormous amount of pertinent information for what we are experiencing now and for when we go back to normal. To be able to sit and talk with a fellow fair member or someone who works for the City of Clearwater and share your pandemic expe- riences and just let go of all that you have held in over the past months was probably my greatest joy! It just felt good! There is no other way to put it. I am thank- ful that the FFEA forged forward blazing the trail for all of us to be able to get together to better ourselves and our roles in our jobs. If you have not attended an FFEA
