Faircracker FALL 2020
Greetings from Zone 2 Vicki Chouris, Director
Congratulations to Dan West, Jim Ward and all of the Florida
Federation of Fairs & Livestock Shows Board of Directors. Alt- hough I had a conflict and was unable to attend, I am so very happy that you were able to hold your Summer/Fall Workshop in person. What a wonderful step in the right direction. We all long for the chance to be able to be together with friends and family in one big room.
As we all know this annual IAFE convention in San Antonio was canceled this
year. The restrictions on travel by so many Fairs and their states affected the number of people who were able to attend so the IAFE team, in their continued professional manner, made a very tough call and changed the plans.
A totally new educational opportunity is now available for all of us. VIRTUAL VISION. Below is a message from
the IAFE that I want to share in case you missed it and a few things you can look forward to in Virtual Vision. Education -- The program has been updated with some of the topics of the 28 educational workshops.
These along with numerous Power Talks and Champions Circle sessions will be held over two days and you will be able to access all of them. How? All attendees will have access to the recording of each session until Dec. 31. With registration at just $199, that's only $7 per session. In addition, you don't want to miss the keynote address from Amy Herman, who will provide insights into how perception can aid in leadership and the decision-making process.
Marketplace --Want to meet businesses that help your fairgrounds run? The Virtual Vision Marketplace will fea-
ture everything from entertainers to insurance brokers to technology solutions experts and much more. Attendees will be able to e-mail vendors directly in the online platform. In addition, Marketplace vendors can set up online meetings (think Zoom or a TEAMS meeting) for live discussions. The links to those meetings will be sent to every Virtual Vision attendee the day prior or that morning.
Networking -- Both days of Virtual Vision will kick off with a Good Morning IAFE session and close with a Virtu-
al Happy Hour with showcase entertainment and time to network with others. This has been a year of adjustments and new experiences. Join other IAFE leaders in this new experience.
Register at
FairsandExpos.com. Also, put our annual IAFE Zone 2 meeting on your calendar for Tuesday, November 17 at 4:00 p.m. More de-
tails will be emailed to you from the IAFE office, but for now, please make sure you are able to attend. We will be providing information about Virtual Vision and we have some other exciting news to announce.
Continue to stay well my friends. I look forward to seeing you sometime in the near future. #FairStrong is not just a “saying”….it is who we are and will continue to be.
