Summer GUIDE #2 Musical Notes SONOMA COUNTY’s by Shekeyna Black ~ shekeyna@gmail.com

Sonoma County, CA. ~ A song called Life ex- presses, “what is going on in the world right now, you know?” reflects the author. His lyrics flow and people may reso- nate with these words in particular, “Sometimes Life is hard, so it seems. We all make mistakes, we’re just human be- ings. We’re all different but, we’re all the same.” Genuine Southern gen- tleman, Brian Francis Baudoin works as a per- forming songwriter who plays guitar and sings from the depths of his Soul.

Baudoin has made

Sonoma County his home going on 3 years; and thankfully, his voice still has that authen- tic Louisiana cadence from his childhood. He started playing guitar at the age of eight as an

escape. Later, “When I was in Nashville, I wrote frequently. Because we were songwriters, we were going to take over the

Baudoin reminisces with a heart- felt laugh.

Baudoin

describes his process of song- writing, “It’s been a journey. I also lived in Nashville and I moved there to write songs back in the 2000’s.” He continues, “The process…a lot of times it comes to me in the middle of the night and I’ll run out of the bed and write things down.

Baudoin

has also co-writ ten songs with other people and says, “that’s a dif- ferent writ- ing process all together.” He says of songwriting, “I

ter.” Creatively, Baudoin produced most of his work from beginning to end, “Without any help from other people so, that kind of made me a little bit of an outcast,” he shares.
