Penalty shoot outs dominate Wiltshire and Swindon School Games 2020 at Stanley Park
300 year 5/6 pupils from across the county made the trip to Chippenham to represent their cluster in the football county finals on the 28th January 2020. It was a day of penalty shoot outs!
Bridlewood recovered from losing their opening game to win both the semi-final and final in the small schools event on penalties. Holt beat Shaw Ridge to win the girls event also on penalties.
Yet another penalty shoot-out saw Monkton Park secure a local derby in the final of the large schools event. In a closely contested match Derry Hill were the eventual winners. The 3 winning schools will now represent Wiltshire in the South West Regional Finals later this year.

Feliks from St Marys, Chippenham was the winner of the Spirt of the Games. He was nominated by the referee who was really impressed with his honesty.
Bishops back to their best at basketball finals
Bradon Forest and Bishop Wordsworth proved too strong for the opposition wining the girls and boys county basketball finals respectively.
Bradon Forest remained unbeaten in the girls event winning all their games. The boys event was much closer with 4 teams still in the running for medals going into the final game. Bishops Wordsworth edged out Hardenhuish to remain unbeaten and were crowned champions. There was a 3-way tie for second place so the medals were decided on points scored with Hardenhuish taking silver and Bradon Forest taking bronze.
The winning schools will go on to represent Wiltshire in the regional finals.
