What is This Wilts Girl Can?

This Wilts Girl Can is inspired by Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign. The campaign, launched in 2015, celebrates active women regardless of how they look, combating stereotypical assumptions of what ‘exercise’ is, and encouraging women and girls to overcome barriers to become active regardless of their background. We’ve launched our very own version in Wiltshire, aiming

to inspire women and girls of Wiltshire and Swindon to get active however they like, whenever they like, to feel good and get moving together!

One of the ways we are aiming to achieve this is through our newly created This Wilts Girl Can online hub. Here you can find inspirational stories from girls across the county, advice on how to get involved in sport, This Girl Can posters created by you, and our interactive activity map, where you can find details of local classes suited to you.

As we have only just launched our This Wilts Girl Can page, we want your help to shape it to encourage as many girls to get active and stay active as we can!

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED? CLUBS:

We would love to hear from you if you have any volunteering opportunities for girls, are looking to grow your girls section, or have any stories of girls within your club you’d like to celebrate. We would love to be able to promote your offer to girls through our interactive activity map, and if you are interested in delivering taster sessions at our This Girl Can Festivals, let us know!

SCHOOLS:

Send us any inspirational stories of girls in your school to celebrate their achievements, and let us know how we can help support schools to encourage girls to be active.
