HMRC extends deadline for customs training funding
Government funding for Customs Training grants has been extended until 31 January 2021. However, the money will not
last indefinitely and in order to avoid disappointment businesses are urged to take advantage without delay. The Government is
providing funding to help business prepare for conditions post-Brexit by learning key Customs skills and knowledge. The funding will give businesses up to 100% off the cost of training employees up to a limit of £2,250 per trainee. Companies involved in trade
as importers or exporters are eligible to apply for the training grant even if you use a third party to complete your declarations. Courses available through
the Chamber where grants can be applied include:
CUSTOMS DECLARATION TRAINING This course will highlight what you need to know to complete customs declarations accurately and efficiently for both imports and exports.
IMPORT PROCEDURES This course will explain import documentation and give knowledge of the key elements of important procedures, including where to go for sources of information and assistance.
