Business growth for former rugby star


Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold, Managing Director of Corporate Architecture Ltd, hung up his rugby boots in 1993, having already laid the foundations for his future career. Sport has taught him a thing or


two about teamwork and how investing well in staff can make a real difference to the success of a business. Today, Malcolm is no longer working on his own in a back bedroom but leading a team of 23 motivated professionals from a modern office in Market Harborough. He said: “On any project


everyone involved must be highly proficient in their role and understand how it contributes to the main objective. “This comes partly from traditional


learning settings such as college and university – we have staff currently enrolled at DMU and at Leicester College and we’re big supporters of the Apprenticeship programme. We also encourage more experienced people to join us. Their industry experience as well as their particular expertise can be a huge asset. “Having a broad mix of skills and


proficiency on any project is essential and we’re really pleased our newest recruits to the practice reflect this ethos.”


New workshop will help businesses harness creativity


SalesAde, which incorporates professional speaking, sales coaching and mentoring, has developed an interactive workshop called Commercial Creativity; partnering with companies across the East Midlands to take the five steps to becoming creatively commercial. Often described as the skill of the 21st Century, chief


executives state creativity as a key skill required for future success. However, only 30% of workers describe themselves as having reached their creative potential; ultimately resulting in a creativity gap. The five steps start by developing working environments


in which creativity, people and flow can thrive; building robust creative teams then follows. Having recognised individual strengths and unique creativities, every team member combines to ensure companies benefit from powerful collaborative creativity. Companies across the East Midlands that take the five steps
