BUSINESS REPORT
JACQUI’S PROMOTION IS A SHOW OF STRENGTH
David Martin
TECH FRINGE IS COMING TO TOWN
To celebrate the tech community in Milton Keynes, David Martin of Ether Solutions has co-founded the MK Tech Fringe – a week of activities taking place 27 April to 3 May 2020, which aims to bring together the diverse range of tech which takes place in the Milton Keynes area. As a long-standing tech business
owner, and running a regular tech meetup group on “Robotic Process Automation” in Milton Keynes, David is keen to raise the profile of the broad mixture of tech taking place across the business community. In creating the initiative, David,
along with his fellow co-founder Richard Foster Fletcher, are viewing tech in a broad spectrum – computer hardware, software, applications (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Xero), through to video, virtual reality, e-Sports and drones, as well as social media. They are encouraging businesses of all types to get involved. MK Tech Fringe has been created
on a community basis, to work with events run by existing businesses and tech groups, each of which will gain an additional profile from being part of the programme. The week of events will place
Milton Keynes on the map alongside existing tech weeks in London, Bristol and Birmingham. Technology with conference
calls, webinars and online meetings has impacted the view of location, which is why in defining the MK Tech Fringe the intention is to recognise that business people in Milton Keynes will also be interested in events taking place across the area such as Aylesbury, Bedford, Bicester, Bletchley, Brackley, Buckingham, Cranfield, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Towcester and Northampton. David has been delighted by the positive response from other Chamber members as the concept of the MK Tech Fringe has been introduced.
