RIDE HIGH WITH TRAINING COURSE
Local charity Ride High launched the Ride High Development Centre in 2019 as a social enterprise. The Development Centre is a dedicated training hub based at the Ride High Equestrian Centre, in central Milton Keynes. It also donates all its profits back to the charity. The centre offers a range of
bespoke and innovative courses for professionals and corporate teams including: Leadership & Management, Team Building and Communication Skills. Integrating equine-facilitated learning into more traditional classroom and group-based training, the centre
uses horses to enhance more established training techniques, making the courses engaging and highly memorable. The “horse element” (which
doesn’t involve riding) provides delegates with valuable insights into their own behaviours and communication styles. The trainer uses the horse to give delegates honest and non-judgemental feedback; focusing their attention on verbal and non-verbal communication skills in an innovative way that has a lasting impact. The organisation has already
worked with several companies and
feedback has been excellent. A recent delegate commented: “The course was more engaging than any training I’ve been on previously. The horses made me aware of how my actions can be interpreted, and I’ll certainly be applying my
At Annka we acknowledge and welcome that one size does not fit all. People come in all shapes and sizes. Models and theories are great and they do have a place in developing the theory behind understanding learning, however we believe in creating customised programmes that are authentic, inspirational and sustainable.
We are people centric, and in doing so strive to demonstrate empathy, respect and attentive listening, all in a non-judgmental manner. Using emotional intelligence and intuition, we will challenge, question and help you explore the bigger picture giving you space to think and reflect. Establishing trustful, meaningful and effective relationships are of utmost importance to us.
WINSLOW SET TO STAGE ‘GRAND’ OPERA
Winslow Hall Opera (W.H.O.) was established in 2012 as a country house festival opera company with charitable status. Born out of a passion for bringing opera of the highest musical standard and staging to the general public, the operas are performed in the grounds of the stunning Winslow Hall. W.H.O. is now planning its next
venture with a ‘grand’ production of AIDA, arguably one of the most spectacular operas composed by Verdi. With six performances in early July 2020, this will be the first time a country house festival in the UK will have ever staged AIDA. The Festival Orchestra is conducted by W.H.O.’s artistic director Oliver Gilmour, who has received outstanding reviews for the festival’s productions, Un Ballo in

Maschera (2017) and Il Trovatore (2018) among others. W.H.O. would like to involve the
local community in reaching those who may not have had the opportunity to attend an opera, via a Young Community Outreach Programme. Intended to expand the accessibility of this immersive and engaging art, children from local schools will be invited to attend and experience AIDA’s dress rehearsals, with a pre-performance talk about the origins of opera and what it means to today’s audiences. To support this learning initiative,
W.H.O. is seeking donations and funding from local businesses; in particular a headline corporate sponsor who shares a passion for expanding accessibility.

little drained from training, but by the end of this course the team was still in good spirits, and I think this is a great reflection on the quality of the day.’
