Car show at the Wildwoods Convention Center on the beach and boardwalk

ThingstoDo

In the spring, The Wildwoods plays host to events like the Boardwalk Classic Car Show, Easter Weekend, and the one-of-a-kind Sen- sational Spring Weekend. These events help set the tone with the approach of summer.

With the arrival Memorial Day weekend, the summer starts heating up. The Wildwoods host the annual International Kite Festival, the largest kite festival in North America, the National Marbles Tournament, New Jersey State Barbeque Championships, and Anglesea Blues Festival, as well as a spectacular Fourth of July Weekend. Traditional events like these attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the country each summer.

Also taking place almost every weekend throughout the summer are block parties, craft shows, boardwalk parades, conventions and a number of festivals, too.

But even when summer ends, the fun doesn’t stop. In fact, it continues well into autumn. The Wildwoods’ “Second Season” starts up after Labor Day Weekend, offering visitors a host of events every weekend through the end of October. Fall events in the Wildwoods include Classic Car Shows, the Olde Time Italian Festival, the Irish Fall Festival, the Seafood and Music Festival, and the amazing Fabulous ‘50s Weekend.

SportingEvents

Sporting events at the Wildwoods Convention Center continue to grow in diversity and number year after year. Open year-round, the convention center can easily accommodate events of up to 5,000 competitors at once. Add to that a large number of hotel/motel rooms available at at- tractive off-season rates, plenty of great restaurants, the boardwalk with its hundreds of eater- ies and attractions, and more than 160 island-wide events and festivals annually - many of them free - and it all adds up to a perfect location for hosting and attending a youth sporting event, any time of year.

The Wildwoods Convention Center offers flexible indoor venue space, allowing it to host all types of sporting events year-round and in any type of weather, with a particular emphasis on youth sports. The venue hosted over 24 sporting events and tournaments in 2019 - ranging from youth wrestling, cheerleading and basketball to gymnastics, futsal, roller derby and band competitions, along with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters and WWE professional wrestling.

The adjacent beach and ocean expand the venue’s offerings in a way that no other similar venue can. In the summer, the beaches are transformed into soccer, lacrosse, baseball, field hockey, volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee tournament fields.

Whether it’s surfing or swimming competitions, outdoor concerts, beach drag races, Monster Truck rallies, or track and field competitions, if an event organizer can imagine it, The Wildwoods can host it. Add in bleacher seating for more than 3,000 for spectators, and the Wildwoods’ enormous beaches serve as the perfect outdoor venue for any event.
