Alice Cooper. I thought the crowd would lose their minds. When the band returned for the encore I wondered what surprise Charlie had in store. Let me remind you, I have been follow- ing this band around since my first show in 2014, so over 60 shows I have had one dream and that was to hear them play my favorite song, full band. electric, loud and proud. When those first notes of “Whiskey River” started, I knew tonight was the night that my dream had come true. I have to say that a few years back, the band did an acoustic show at a brewery in Asheville and played the songs and I was so thrilled but tonight I knew I was going to check one off my bucket list. “Son of Bourbon” is an older song that the band first released on their "New Honky Tonk Bootlegs" EP, and it’s been my favorite songs since I first heard it. It’s not in the set list often and it was something I had listened for each and every show. It seemed that just as quickly as it started it was over, and the house lights came up. As we left the venue we both ask at the same time was that for real? Did we just experience that? Did you see the magic happen on stage? It was shock and awe and all I can think of to say is, life is short, bills will come and go, but memo- ries like this Monday night In Jacksonville, Florida don't happen every day and are price- less. Buy the tickets, go to the shows and pray the stars align for you like they did for the lucky ones who got Smoked in Jacksonville! •
