ern Salad and the one I chose today, the Cobb Salad. ($9.95) It’s made up of iceberg lettuce and mixed greens, topped with bacon, ched- dar cheese, boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, dill pickle and dressing. (I chose the tangy bal- samic vinaigrette) What sets these guys Cobb salad apart is the inclusion of avocado. I love avocado, and it truly adds to the flavor. The salad was huge, and one of the best I have had.
The menu includes a “Create Your Own
Salad” plate where you choose 2-3 salads – chicken, tuna, pimento, egg, pasta, macaroni, strawberry congealed, marinated veggies, broccoli salad, waldorf or potato. The combi- nations are endless! Delightful is the perfect name for this
lunch café, perhaps the most popular gather- ing place for lunch in Inman. Every time I have been in, the place is packed. No small wonder, the food is excellent and the staff is as good as they come. Prices are affordable, and the entire dining experience is a joy. I was very tempted by today’s Special, espe- cially after most of the folks in our party or- dered it, but alas, my New Year’s resolution, as always it seems, was to cut back on the carbs and calories. The special was country style steak with gravy, biscuit and two vegeta- bles. Mouthwatering. The Daily Special will cost you $7.50. Another option for Daily Spe- cial is Chicken Pecan Quiche, served with tossed salad and granola fruit cup. There is a wide array of sandwiches
available, including the Heart n’ Soul, layered with homemade chicken salad, lettuce and tomato on whole wheat. All sandwiches are served with chips and a pickle. You can also opt for homemade egg salad, a Double D Club sandwich, a vegetarian sandwich or many more.
There are plenty of salads available as well, including a Chicken Salad, a Southwest-
