Melody Makers: The Bible of Rock and Roll (Cleopatra/MVD) Melody Maker maga- zine out of Great Britain was one of the most loved and respected music publications of the 60’s and 70’s, featuring excellent writing and the best photography. The documentary cen- ters around Chief Photographer Barrie Wentzell, who, along with other staff and plenty of rock royalty, tell the story of this groundbreaking publication. Insider stories flow like fine wine, recounting the music and exploits of artists like Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Elton John, Pink Floyd. Bruce Spring- steen, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Gabriel, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, Patti Smith and many more. Filled with amazing performance and backstage photos, this award-winning film is a brilliant history of an important publication, and an inspirational journey for aspiring music journalists and photographers alike. . . Come On Feel the Noize (Cleopatra/MVD) A good documen- tary on “how rock became metal.” Tons of live clips and interviews, featuring Jimmy Page, Ian Gillian, Ozzy Osbourne, Nikki Sixx, James Hetfield, Dee Snider, Michael Monroe and in- cludes a look at punk/new wave with Blondie, the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Plasmatics and more. Clips of classic bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper and Led Zeppelin help to illustrate the story. Juda Priest, Iron Maiden, Disturbed and many more. A metal lover’s wet dream. . .Bad Com- pany: A Film by Jon Brewer. This authorized 40th anniversary Blu Ray disc rocks. The first ever documentary on the formation and rise to fame of the band Bad Company, one of rock’s first Super Groups, bringing together members of Free, King Crimson and Mott the Hoople. Utilizing rare archival footage, the

documentary exposes the truth about the band’s past management issues, sold out sta- dium tours and the shocking loss of bassist Boz Burrell. Director Jon Brewer (BB King: The Life of Riley) went on the rod with Paul Rogers, Simon Kirke and Mick Ralphs to get the real story of the classic Top 40 rock band. Good stuff. . .

Bad Company: The Official Authorized 40th Anniversary Documentary is now available on Blu-Ray disc via Filmrise. Pro- duced & Directed by Jon Brewer and officially authorized by the band members themselves, the film starts with the very beginning of Bad Company and takes us though 2014 when the film was completed. All new, in depth inter- views with Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke shine the light on and how they were signed to Led Zeppelin's label Swan Song label, and the ups and downs of the band over the years, including mant behind the scenes stories that have never been heard before. Great performance footage and intelli- gent interviews make this one a real winner. •
