Charles Henry Gerrett served as a Chief Officer Class II at H.M. Prison Bristol, and was awarded his Imperial Service Medal in 1922 (London Gazette 14 November 1922.
Sold with named Home Office enclosure. Mrs. Eva Ryman served as an Assistant Chief Welfare Officer, Clevedon Civil Defence, Women’s Voluntary Service. Sold with copied research including a photographic image of the recipient. Charles H. C. Waters was awarded his National Fire Brigades Association Long Service Medal on 2 May 1923.

Joseph Wood was born in Pendleton, Lancashire. A Collier by occupation, he attested for the Manchester Regiment at Ashton-under- Lyne on 28 September 1886, aged 19 years. With them he served in India, September 1888-December 1894. Attaining the rank of Colour Sergeant, he was discharged in September 1907 having completed his second period of engagement.
With the outbreak of the Great War he returned to military service and became a Company Sergeant-Major serving with the 454th (Provost) Company Royal Defence Corps. For his service in Ireland he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, his only military award. C.S.M. Wood died of influenza in Cork on 17 February 1919, aged 52 years. He was buried in the Philips Park Cemetery, Manchester. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Wood of 227 Mill Street, Bradford, Manchester, Lancashire.

Harry Bevan attested for the Military Provost Staff Corps, his service number denoting an original early enlistment. He was appointed Garrison Sergeant Major on 21 May 1936, and was commissioned Lieutenant Quartermaster, General List, on 23 December 1939. He transferred as a Lieutenant to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps on 3 July 1942 , and was promoted Major on 1 November 1947. He relinquished his commission on 1 October 1954.

William Ball was born in the Parish of St. James, Westminster. A Shoemaker by occupation, he attested for the 7th Dragoon Guards at Westminster on 21 April 1859, aged 20 years. He transferred to the 11th Hussars in August 1867 and re-engaged to complete 21 years in March 1868. He served in the East Indies for 17 years, 6 months, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal by G. O. 82 of 1878 - his only medallic award. He was discharged at Aldershot on 18 June 1880, and his intended place of residence was stated to be New Brompton, Chatham.
